I don't hate touch, but I wasn't head over heels. i'm glad they didn't go in that direction. I love what they did with this album with all the acoustics, pianos, etc.
The singles, Joy Next Door, And Then are the ones I’m digging. Still not blown away like I was with several of their last albums. Had the same reaction to XOXO and You Are OK, those eventually grew on me, but it took years haha. Came back several times and they finally clicked. Hoping this doesn’t take as long.
This album feels like it's best played with an Old Fashioned in hand. Liked it on first listen driving to dinner last night, keen to dig into it more.
