Lovely Little Lonely is just so stacked with perfect songs. This is really great, but I don’t think it’s AS great.
And it just flows...so...beautifully. As a cohesive piece, a *record*, it sits alone at the top for me.
not a perfect one-to-one comparison, but "My Best Habit" feels a lot like them improving on "My Heroine" the same kind of swaggering, fm radio rock verses, leading into a more open chorus it's a really great song, can't believe I was underwhelmed by it at first excellent track 2 choice as well
I love both it and Numb waaaaay more in context than I did as singles. Idk why, but both just really opened up for me when listening straight through.
I can’t stop listening to this. I haven’t really listened to anything they did after Black & White tbh. I’ll have to check out more of their stuff.
Here’s the video I was talking about a few weeks ago. It’s the live cd available with the Rocksound bundle.
LLL You Are Ok Pioneer Forever Halloween (with the Bonus songs) American Candy BW CSWS Pretty easy for me. They’ve come a long way since first seeing them during the “The Way We Talk” era.
I'm a newer fan of the band (I don't care for much prior to the American Candy era, but I need to go back and give Pioneer some attention), but You Are OK is already my favorite record of theirs by a pretty significant margin.
Does anyone else agree that You Are OK is the best representation of the band's entire catalog? The AC/LLL vibes obviously continue on this album, but I hear a lot more of Pioneer/FH in the songwriting and hooks than I had anticipated (which is perhaps why I feel slightly let down by this album, as I really don't care for Pioneer or Forever Halloween at all).
Classic case of liking a comment before finishing it, then regretting it. But I'll let you keep it cus I definitely agree with you until the parenthesis.
It doesn't hurt anything to order from a foreign store right? Like I'm about to order this thing in pounds, but it'll just convert through my bank right?
Okay, so my first impression of Pioneer is that it’s pretty front heavy, I was fully on board up to Some Days, but after that song it kinda slowly started to lose me for a couple songs, but it finishes out pretty strong. Definitely gonna give it more listens before I write off that middle section tho
Did anyone else notice that super quick vocal chop in Numb Without You on Stutter in the second verse? Moments I live for musically
I'm surprised no one else has commented on this. I was interested in getting a copy of AC and LLL on vinyl, and was shocked by the limited availability. At this point I'd be content with a standard 180g black copy of either release LOL. I understand that with being independent means they'd have to press so many copies to even get it made in the first place. Perhaps if they did a preorder with the caveat that it might take a few months to reach the number needed for pressing it? I'm not mad about it. I understand it's just business, and I'll probably cough up the money for LLL in a few months as a treat to myself. For now, I'm fine with digital of the older stuff and my upcoming vinyl of YAOK.
