I'm surprised at how this charted. I thought with Sticky having some radio success this would have charted higher than You Are OK but looks like it didn't even crack the Billboard 200
The little guitar break after the first chorus in Lips reminds me so much of Here It Goes by Jimmy Eat World. Love it.
Had this on repeat this weekend. Really growing on me. Overall, I think I like You Are OK better, but this album seems perfect for the summer.
Yep - this album was released at a perfect time. Middle of summer when get togethers and socializing is finally back (at least here in Ontario)
I think I remember hearing them say that Warner Bros basically locked John away from the rest of the band during the recording process of B&W, so they didn't have much creative input.
That's bizarre 'cause I was under the impression that John was prolly the least experienced in songwriting back then, haha. Obviously he's come into his own and is fantastic now.
I was actually just referring to the spoken word before the band comes in. I know what part you're talking about though.
My Pillar exclusive variant arrived today. I think I expected the red to be a brighter than this? Still, very cool to finally have a physical copy
I’ve seen some mixed reactions to the Pillar variant since the mock-up showed it having more black smoke mixed with the red. I’m still waiting for mine but I love seeing people getting theirs.
One of my friends hers only had 1 little black smoke spot on the whole vinyl. I’m kinda sad now I didn’t even try for the lavender variant.
Pretty disappointing experience tbh. Granted, I got to watch the livestream, but I paid $10 for pillar to get the pillar variant then they changed it. I still haven't received my vinyl and it's expected to be here next Monday. Waiting a month after release day is pretty long imo.
When I saw his post about it on his IG, I literally sat on my living room floor and happy cried. What a wonderful birthday gift for him!
