after release month YAO kinda hid in the backseat for the rest of the year for me. "One Sunset" is the only track i kept going back to (still do), "My Best Habit" had some legs too for a while. i'm only on my third day with XOXO but it's already way more captivating imo
Pat, Kennedy and Garrett legit said they have 4 fully recorded songs that didn't make the album, one that they said was a "banger" and "probably better than anything on this album"... weird, why wouldn't they have it on if it was that good? Also sounds like they might have a feature track that would be pushed towards radio.
Considering the album is only 32 minutes as is……wish they just added these to the album. The more the better
I really hope so. Also, if there is one, give the deluxe edition a more interesting cover than a fuzzy red dot on a yellow background.
You need lots of releases now. Better to save songs for future one-off single releases than tack them onto the album. It's all about frequency of release.
I dunno 32 minutes is pretty short...and that's assuming one likes every song on it. Would have loved more.
Love in real time might be my favorite as well. The clip of them listening to it in the studio was really fucking cool to see. They played it before the rooftop livestream the other night. as much as I wish the record was longer, it makes sense to withhold some songs. They are obviously going for radio so it’s good to sit on some songs in case nothing else from the record hits. As someone else said, you need to be constantly releasing music nowadays.
Hard disagree there. I think the LLL artwork is perfect. Same with You Are OK. I still don't like the XOXO artwork though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah I love the LLL artwork. I think it’s perfect for the tone of the album. I also really like YAO’s too. Not mad on XOXO but I don’t hate it.
I think the colors fit the vibe. Also, this album is the *perfect* length. It is not a more the merrier situation. Part of what makes LLL such a stone cold classic is that it's essentially 8 perfect songs with interludes.
LLL is kinda tied together by its three title tracks and I think the art fits all of those, therefore working for the record. But I get why someone might hear Bad Behavior or Reverie and not think the artwork matches
