Idk, I've been listening to it a lot and it's grown on me but YAO is still way better. Nothing on here really hits the highs of that album and there's nothing on there as bad as High Forever.
Yeah, this is growing on me a ton and I like it a lot, but it isn't even in the same ballpark as You Are OK to me.
I like this way more than the last record, and I liked that one a lot. Save "Broken Parts," I think this album has higher highs and is a better showcase for their extreme knack for hooks.
"Broken Parts" was your favourite on the last album? That might have been my least favourite lol. Even that's pretty great though. I think "Slip the Noose", "My Best Habit", "Heaven, We're Already Here" and "One Sunset" are all a fair bit better than anything on here. I think they were just more in my wheelhouse on that one.
Yep, easily my favorite. Probably doesn't hurt that it's basically the U2 song "One" put through a Maine filter. "My Best Habit" was probably my second favorite. I like all the songs you mentioned, but a lot of that album just never quite gets there on the melody front for me.
lol i'm the exact same as Craig. I only added Broken Parts to my giant playlist and I played My Best Habit the next most during that album release cycle and then probably One Sunset third...then a huge dropoff from there where I only listened to the rest a couple of times.
Heaven, We're Already Here and Flowers On The Grave are better than anything on XOXO imo, and I love this record.
