Other than these cringe worthy lyrics, this band could write English Girls/Bad Behavior type songs 50 times and i’d still love them all. There’s something about that 3EB vibe that just is right in their wheelhouse
For whatever reason I just tend not to love the more groovy tracks from these guys. That sort of staggered delivery in the chorus doesn’t quite work for me. It’s a solid song but not my speed
It's funny THAT'S the song you picked It's definitely a good one. So many great ones on that album, I def recommend keeping it in rotation. They write some of my favourite pop/rock that doesn't sacrifice lyrical content or musicianship. They're also my favourite band though so *shrug*
Not gonna lie, I get way more English Girls vibes from Sticky than Bad Behavior. Literally sing the chorus of one over the other. Works a little too well.
In other news, I like AC a lot more now from listening to it a few more times. Still don't like My Hair, but the rest is clicking a bit more.
I think i almost never revisited My Hair, 24 Floors, and Diet Soda...though i remember kinda liking Diet Soda. Def need to check those out again. My favoruites on that record were definitely and definitively Miles Away, Same Suit, and Another Night
Miles Away always makes me cry. I've always been a bit of a wanderer and grew up in SoCal, moved to NorCal for college, then moved to Philly. That song just has my whole heart and is so personal.
AC is my second favorite album after LLL. I can listen to both start to finish, without skipping. I actually refuse to skip songs because the entire album tells a whole story. would be silly of me to jump around.
I never skip when playin' LLL and prolly won't skip XOXO much either. I can play American Candy front to back too, it's just not quite as seamless as the other two to me. Great record though, i love it. EDIT: Wait, i guess our lists weren't the same, haha.
Does anyone else do this? I never skip in general. Sometimes I'm in the mood for playlists, but if there is an album that I really like (AC is a great example of this for me), but there's one or two tracks on it that I'm not a fan of, I don't skip them because I like the album as a whole and if I listen to the album enough, I end up liking those songs.
hahaha they are pretty damn close tho! LLL AC XOXO YAO ............ Its been a while since I listened to the others they have, which I plan on revisiting probably tomorrow and Thursday so that I can finish my list. Friday I will be too busy with our lord and savor, John Mayer
Holy shit I wished a new 3eb single into the world like a page back they just announced a new single on 7/30
can't put into words what the final stretch on this album made me feel. YAO felt conclusive and bittersweet, whereas this feels open-ended and brimming with potential - even if the closer reads like a send-off. it made me want to actually do the things i usually spend my time regretting i didn't do. they landed all final three songs this time around, a first since Pioneer imo holy shit i had to double-check because this is almost exactly my relationship with this band, including the association of LLL to a holiday, not having actually listened to CSWS, even the ranking is almost accurate (Pioneer is my #1 and swap B&W and YAO). is The Sound of Reverie also your favorite song by them?
That’s so cool! I wouldn’t say that it’s my absolute favourite but it’s definitely up there! Probably in my top five. Black Butterflies and Deja Vu might be mine, since I used it in this video (from the holiday i mentioned): But I might as well have used The Sound of Reverie.
Our wedding photographer set our wedding highlight video to the remix of black butterflies so that one will always be number one for me.
