If your light goes out’s chorus is a tad bit annoying and it’s my least favorite on here but that’s not saying much lol

 

I wasn't entirely sold on High Forever until I listened with headphones this morning. The production on these songs is made to be listened to way too loud with good headphones.

I'm a fairly new fan of these guys, so this weekend I did a full discography listen. There wasn't much pre-American Candy that interested me. But hot damn, this AC-LLL-YAO-XOXO album run is fantastic. Cool to see a band find their footing this deep in their career.

This is why It was on repeat all day long on Friday. My dad got me some sick Bose headphones for my bday in 2019 just because he knows that when I listen to an album for the first time, I has to be with headphones. So he got me the best ones possible when he worked for Bose.

Not into anything they've put out prior, but I love all four of these records. XOXO may climb.

 

I actually got to GO TO the livestream last night, they only allowed 30 people who went to their popup shop to come in person. It was fucking unreal, their energy was great and the backdrop of the skyline was immaculate. Played a terrific setlist too. Unforgettable show.

If anyone watches it, I was the only person there in a white longsleeve lmao

 

The livestream last night was awesome. They played a short "making of " for XOXO before and it was cool to see how stoked they were making the record. Say what you want about the record, but you can tell they put a ton of work into it and they really broke out of their comfort zone.

Pretender was "my dumb f*ckin' friend's" favourite lmao

 

XOXO made them pass 2,000 scrobbles on my last.fm. Love these guys so, so, so, so much. I still almost get overwhelmed sometimes by all the feelings I have associated with their songs. Especially LLL. One of my favourite albums ever. It will always remind me of the best holiday I ever had. Here's to many more years set to the music of The Maine!

I just would've preferred a better line than "Lips do more than just kiss" to close out the chorus, haha. The song is fun enough and catchy enough though, so i can look past it.

 

They also played a shortened version of Flowers On The Grave last night.
