I am missing CSWS, B&W, and AC I believe. And the bonus songs on FH but I'm not sure those have been pressed. And I don't really mind not having the first two so I just hope I get AC at some point
I got the clear with the cardigan. I'm lucky enough to have LLL, AC, and YAO on vinyl too. (though my AC is glow in the dark).
Darn. Forgot this was going up today and now everything but the awful bundles is gone. Crazy that a brand new album release would be THAT limited. Would’ve taken the shirt/flag, but the cardigan is…not for me and the ring bundle is just a bunch of useless junk.
I dropped the ball on this today so I just bought a month of Pillar and nabbed the marble variant. Still ended up being cheaper than any of the bundles.
Signed up for Pillar to grab that marble pressing. What a dumb way to release an album, who on earth wants a cardigan like that
It's like Patreon, etc. Artists share information (presale codes, behind the scenes videos, b-sides, etc.), have a special shop with otherwise unavailable items, and also sometimes do livestreams. I've been on the Andrew McMahon one for over a year and I'm quite happy with it.
Didn't realize the preorders were yesterday and missed out. Add this to the list with LLL for The Maine records I need.
Huh. I guess I can't begrudge artists trying to do whatever they can to make a living, but man, I really hate the "everything is a subscription now!" direction we've been heading in for the past decade. I feel like an artist would have to be really active and engaged to make something like that worth it in the long run.
I totally get that and agree. I enjoy having a way to support my favorite artists this way, especially smaller bands/artists, though. I have been a patron (via Patreon) for some artists who are *very* active, as well as the other extreme. Andrew's is one of the best ones, in my opinion. I've really loved the livestreams he does from his home studio and such.
That's cool, I'm glad Andrew's has been rewarding for you. That's definitely the closest I've come to hopping aboard anything like this. I'm very bad about finding time to watch livestreams, which is the primary reason I haven't made the leap.
My copies of Pioneer and The Good Love finally arrived today so the gang’s now all here! …until the self titled arrives too in August
Listened to Lovely Little Lonely a few times today for the first time in a bit, and man, that album is fucking perfect.
I appreciate the DIYness of this band. So much damn respect and I truly think that’s going to be a major part of their legacy.
