Putting together my AOTY list, so revisiting a ton of stuff this week. This fell off a bit for me, but it’s hard to separate it from a very nice couple of summer weeks when it came out Side note, I like the song, but I am begging musicians to find a metaphor for love besides drugs!
They aren’t “bad” at what they do but holy hell am I not into it. the Maine and flor fucking killed it though.
Just got back from seeing them in Philly. They put on an awesome show and the new songs go off live. It really made we wish we got a proper album tour instead of the eras-style tour we got. I'm hoping they headline again this album cycle so we can hear more of the new songs live.
Glad that songs getting more attention, I feel like it’s really been overlooked so far. Interesting to have Misterwives hop on I have to give it a listen.
Favourites on the record: How to Exit a Room/Cars & Caution Signs/I Think About You All the Time/Spiralling A couple for sentimental reasons and a couple because they're fucking bangers (I Think About You All the Time is in both columns) Also this new version adds quite a bit to Leave In Five with the added harmonies and stuff, I like it a lot
I think the best tracks are: Dose No. 2, Thoughts, Leave in 5. As this album has soaked in, I"m liking Spiraling more. Only tracks I truly dont like are Blame and Funny how. Blame has such a great chorus but the verses are such a jumbled mess. Could be so good. Very solid album, though short.
Kinda can't believe how much this album and band have come to mean to me in 5 short months, I thought this didn't happen
I love every song on the record except ain’t it funny how? It’s a good song but I wish we got 10 bangers instead
My top four: how to exit a room, leave in five, the mood I’m in / jsyk, thoughts I have while laying in bed But I honestly love every song
Will need the recency bias to wear off for me before I can make those kinds of statements but I am starting to think I may like it as much as LLL, which I consider far ahead of anything else
