I definitely don't revisit XOXO like some of their previous albums, but I don't think this band is capable of making anything even remotely close to trash at this stage in their careers.
I dig both of these. I didn't get into The Maine until American Candy. I love that album and LLL, and You Are OK is genuinely one of my favorite records of the last 5-6 years. XOXO had no staying power for me, but it's fine.
Both of these are crazy good! The Maine continue to release hit after hit. Getting some big LLL vibes on How To Exit A Room.
Not that it’s a particularly distinct sound, but Blame also reminds me a lot of what Grayscale’s been up to on their last couple of records Pat wildin out on those hi hat triplets. Super clean sounding, that dude is so good at adapting to various sounds while still sounding uniquely him
Ok I’ve toe dipped this band a few times and liked everything I’ve heard. Where do I start for a deeper dive?
Lovely Little Lonely is their magnum opus. After that I'd say listen to American Candy and then You Are Ok
Absolutely agree. I think Forever Halloween is a good bridge in one direction and YAO is in the other. Both are wonderful. LLL sits on a throne alone. edit: duh they’re bridges chronologically haha
but this is way better than whatever they've been putting out recently. This feels like it could actually do well on the radio while still being the Maine.
I love everything about these 2. Hoping to jump on the vinyl when it goes up since I've missed the last two albums. (I'm still going to get those 2 eventually).
I've said this before, but You Are OK is one of my favourite albums of the past decade. I re-listen to LLL more because it's a quicker listen. Anxiety in Real Time was good too.
For me it’s LLL, XOXO and the YAO in terms of ranking the last few. Not massively into AC but I like half of the album.
Posting in here since it's now the most up to date Maine thread... has anyone received their Pillar exclusive Good Love EP on pink yet?
