So the vinyl is supposedly sold out, and the nyc shows are supposedly sold out, but according to this I can still buy a vinyl + ticket bundle? For only $65 total? I’m tired and not sure I’m reading this correctly lol. Seems too good a deal! https://shop.81twentythree.com/collections/themaine/products/sweet-16-tour-bundle
I'm here to be the counter culture on spiraling cus it's actually a really great closer. I get why it didn't scream that to people at first since they always close with their big, emotional, cathartic song, but it's fun that they switched it up. Cars & cautions signs resolves the heavier feelings and then spiraling lets you just bask in the peace that comes after that for a bit. I also like the imagery of spiraling to close out the album - the album is over but life carries on. Also if cars & caution signs had actually been the closer I can almost guarantee people would've been said it's not as good as some of their other ones, etc. etc. because it would've started to feel reductive Anyway this album gets better every time. One of my favorites this year, and one of my favorites by this band, and that's not a small feat at all.
I was away in Tampa for a bachelor party, literally spiraling, listening to this album and wishing I was home with my wife. I was always a fan of the song but this album was the soundtrack to that trip and spiraling feels like the perfect ending to me
Exactly the same here, in fact I think the way that the rest of this flows and clicks for me has made “Spiraling” seem even more out of place on this. I love this record though overall.
Agree. This is a more elegant way of saying what I've been thinking, which is that the song feels like a victory lap. It's fun!
I’ve listened to this album at least once daily for much of the past 3 weeks and I’m not even remotely sick of it just so you KNOOOOOOOOOOOW
Same. Every time I get in the car and ask myself what I wanna listen to.. it ends up being this album. Played it with my mom in the car and even she liked it. She says leave in 5 sounds like Dua Lipa haha funny old lady.
i think about you all the time thoughts i have while lying in bed funny how cars & caution signs might end up being one of my favorite song runs in their discography for me
Think I've reached the point where it's probably at the same level of LLL for me, but I'm still taking You Are Ok over both of them. Still a really good album though.
You Are Ok is not even in my top 3. No real cohesive vision, a little bit all over the place. I don’t feel like they needed to take a step back and work with Squire again just for nostalgia…
Can't tell if you're serious or not. If you are, this is definitely the worst opinion I've seen in this thread.
