I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

The only qualm I have with the new songs so far is that the production holds back the punches quite a bit. These song absolutely will go off live.

palms so so cool though, they’re swinging for the fences from a songwriting perspective

I felt similarly after the singles for s/t, and that ended up being my second favorite of theirs. I’m a little more “in” than you guys, and am excited for this iteration

I think the production is really affecting my response to these songs - and I am SO far from a “the mix sucks” guy. I just think John’s vocals are really muted and the songs are missing the emotional punch they usually have. When I listen back to the ST I hear an entirely different level of complexity and emotion, personally. Just my opinion after listening several times.

Did Colby work on this album with them? It very much feels like he didn't.

He did not (and I agree his absence is blatantly obvious)

3/3 for me. This album is going to be a great 'cruising the streets with the windows down while the sunsets' album.

All 3 of these have been fine. I'm sure I'll like the album, but my excitement has dipped quite a bit.

I cannot understand the majority of what he’s saying in the chorus but think I hear “fuck that” at some point

The vocals on all three tunes have been a bit low in the mix.

    Dizzy head
    Here you go
    It’s a sign
    If you fall
    If you fall
    After all
You don't need no crystal ball

    Go anywhere you wanna go

    Don't think
It all happens for a reason
    Fuck that
    Well the night is unknown
    Don’t think, let it happen

    Let’s pretend
    Hear me out
Who says we can't spend it all?
    Pretty boys
    Voodoo dolls
    Getting drunk and reading palms

    Don’t think
    Oh well I don’t need a reason
    Stop that
    When the night is unknown
    Don’t think, let it happen

It’s a good track, but definitely not hitting the heights of most of their recent releases for me.

I am a little surprised about the muted reaction to this, but then again, I thought the last one was such a dud outside of the first 3 tracks.

These have been my favorite things they’ve written since You Are OK.

I'm currently in "desperate for it to be spring/summer" mode, so I put XOXO on the turntable yesterday. Still a top 3 The Maine album for me. Wall-to-wall bangers.

This is definitely my favorite of the three but overall I am still in the like-not-love camp with these so far

We got a historic blizzard and 20 inches of snow a week ago. I'd happily take 52!

If you keep listening to the songs on repeat they keep getting better this album should be good

So far the new album sounds like a decent mix of the last two albums. I’m ready for it. The new tracks keep getting better and better.

Agree. Still wish I liked the production a bit better, but it's a grower.
