Last three songs have completely grown on me, I should have just stfu’d and trusted these dudes.. this clip sounds like a banger, getting strong 2012 Maine vibes

Wild to think they’ve never done a late night show before. Fallon’s audience would love them. “Come on now, That’s how you do it!”
Very excited to hear this from start to finish. Could not be coming at a more perfect time for me. I always enjoy their records as a cohesive piece more than anything else.
Same, after Friday weather is finally going to be jumping to a consistent 60+, so it’s going to be a good spring/yardwork album for me
You are OK, and XOXO. I got into the Maine late, people seem to love Lovely Little Lonely too (it's good, but i don't like it as much as these others)
I think the majority of fans agree that Lovely Little Lonely is their best, so I'd definitely start there. Personally, I'd argue for their self-titled as the 2nd listen. Gives you a sense of where the band is now and is fantastic. But I'm sure there will be a lot of opinions on what the 2nd album should be.
I would listen to Diet Soda Society from American Candy to kick things off. Then Taxi from Lovely Little Lonely, paying extra attention to the bridge guitar solo. Then Flowers on the Grave from You Are OK to have a good cry. Sticky from XOXO to keep the blood flowing. Hop in a car and take a ride with cars & caution signs from self titled. Return home with why i hate it here from Dyed. Round out the set with Die To Fall from the album Joy Next Door releasing this week. This’ll give you a good feel for who they are. After you’ve listened to these songs I’d go back and listen to American Candy front to back and all the albums released after it front to back. Have fun, it’s such a great fucking ride. They’re amazing and give you something new with every record.
I'd start with Lovely Little Lonely for the sole reason that the album encompasses their older pop rock sound at a high standard. Then I'd check out XOXO because that album encompasses the sound they evolved into at a high standard. However, I personally love their last (Self-Titled) album a lot.
You can probably tell that the consensus starting point is going to be Lovely Little Lonely. I'd do that and then it's a question of what you want to hear from there. If you want to get ready for the new album, either jump to The Maine or just go chronologically from Lovely Little Lonely. You can think of American Candy as the start of the current era of the band, so you could always go backwards from Lovely Little Lonely, if you want to hear something that bridges the contemporary sound to a more rock-oriented approach (Pioneer, Forever Halloween). Black & White also generally has the rock sound, but that one is a little closer to the neon-era pop rock of Can't Stop, Won't Stop. If you're not prepping for the new stuff, just listen to what sounds interesting to you. There's probably a wrong way to do this (Forever Halloween could be a weird starting point if you're trying to get a sense of the discography), but I don't think there's a bad record in the bunch.
