The Maine’s John O’Callaghan has shared on Instagram the meaning behind the band’s You Are Ok album title.

There are no words that can describe the feeling I get when I read something like this. I haven’t forgotten the days on MySpace, where someone simply replying from California to one of our messages would get me excited. Now, having been allowed the opportunity to take our music around the globe and talk to people of all walks, that excitement and has been multiplied exponentially. Certain events in this life have this funny way of making you feel alone, when in reality that aloneness is shared by every other human being on earth. I decided to name this album those three small words for no better reason than to speak to myself. Selfish as it may be, I need to hear those words often, and if they somehow resonate like they did with this someone across the world then I accidentally did at least a little good while I was alive. Moral is, words are more powerful than ever, use them with the utmost care. So thank you and be well young man, you will make it and you will be ok.
