Probably one of the best of the year for me. I refuse to believe Maggie Gyllenhaal hasn't secretly directed other movies

Kinda confused by the ending though, but might just be overthinking it.

Ed Harris is a legend and everyone will know why when they see this

This movie was incredible. Very unique perspective not explored nearly enough

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Yeah…I don’t know. Hits some degree of emotional potency in the final quarter, but it’s a bit too little too late with the meandering that precedes it. I respect the subversiveness of a woman making a film that makes motherhood look ugly and problematic and the performances really sell that though.

I thought this had some great moments but I think it probably could’ve been 20 minutes shorter. Some really original stuff though, thematically and cinematically. I agree that it’s impressive as a debut.

I am about halfway through this and I think it’s just okay. I dunno, maybe it’s because I can’t relate to the subject of motherhood but it seems very slow and not a ton to the story.

I just finished it and have to say this was a disappointment for me. While the plot did throw me for a loop in terms of what it was about, (I thought it was going to lean more about motherhood than the relationship with this family) it was a weird storyline that just kinda weirded me out more than anything.

Question for someone more film literate than me (and using this thread for it because it's the most recent example: is there a name/word to describe the way the end credits are done in this? All the names being in a big block and each showing up one by one. I see it in a lot of French films and am just curious if there's a word for it
