Is Halbrand the King of the army of the dead??

 

I don’t love that they’re making Gil-Galad into a more traditional old timey “villain” ruler. He’s the only reason Isildur even gets close to cut off the Ring in the series finale (I’m assuming they’ll end there).

I do not think that The Stranger is going to be Gandalf, but honestly at this point i kind of want it to be Gandalf.

 

That shot of Elrond chatting near the dying tree at night was incredible

 

Finally started this and I’m almost done with ep2. This is incredible wow.


Been loving every second of it and can’t wait to watch more. Glad I waited so I have more episodes to binge.

They’re easily my least favorite part. Elrond/Durin is my favorite.

I honestly think 4 and 5 could have been combined into one episode, it felt like a tease that they were really setting up the journey but it ended up being more deliberation this episode instead. Looks like it's finally starting next week though

The visuals in this show though just continue to astound me

I just saw people arguing about if the Witch-King (the Nazgul version) was a misogynist or not

 

Nerd of the Rings has been doing great breakdowns on each episode. I generally feel similarly with this thoughts.

This weeks Durin and Elrond was so so good.

 

I’m really not liking this show. Almost none of the characters are likable or interesting to me. Also, many things that happen don’t make logical sense to me. It really takes me out of the show when I have to stop and think of why a character would make a certain decision or about how some plot point doesn’t make sense. Like why does the Numenor queen so quickly change her mind and decide to aid Galadriel with her war? Or how does mithril save the elves and everyone just believe that to be the truth without an explanation? There are many more things that just don’t make sense to me.

 

Elves are very old, they just know shit, or that’s what others like to believe lol

 

The only person to be told the mythril thing was durin and I'll buy it since he's close with elrond. We will see what happens when it's presented to others.

 

Saw this on Twitter (Adar was trending the other day because of course he now has a vocal thirst contingent) and it was an interesting catch.

This was a very good episode, best so far.

 

Maaaaaaaaaaaan this show. Holy shit that ending.

 

Also, the battle sequence was enthralling. Definitely reminiscent of some Helms Deep vibes, particularly when those torches start appearing one by one over the hill. I can’t believe this will be over in a couple weeks and then we’ll have a very long year ahead of us.
