Disagree, the harfoot plot line is what makes this feel like lord of the rings to me.

 

I like that we’re getting characters from elves, humans, dwarves, and kinda-hobbits. Great show so far.

 

There were no hobbits here, sir - I believe you mean The Harfoots.

I'm kidding, but I do sorta agree with your take - only I think I bump the grades up into the A & C range as opposed to B & D.

 

Some of the first episode lost me with the dialogue dumps but thankful that this isn’t a total disaster

 

The only thing I miss is the score from the LOTR trilogy. If they could sprinkle some of that in there.

Honestly this but flipped is my take. I was more invested in the Harfoot/Stranger subplot than anything else.

Everything involving Eldrond the first two episodes has been cringiest part of the show so far to me.

my complaint on the diversity is that if you really want to get creative and take risks, do stories on the haradrim and the easterlings

 

Really need to see more of that War of Wrath. Me likey big battle scene.

 

I'm excited to watch the show but I'm determined to finish watching the movies first lol. I thought the second Hobbit was a lot better than the first one, felt a lot more true to the vibe of the LOTR movies and is still gorgeous to look at. The barrel scene was the most ridiculous in the whole series but I really enjoyed it so I don't care lol

 

Loved the first two episodes! So cool to have so many great fantasy shows right now.

 

just finished Ep1, will watch the 2nd later on but i cannot overstate how much i enjoyed this.
