Yeah, I'm pretty sure for our student-discount program we use a third-party service to verify student status.
Eventually they all probably will. Especially if they think they are losing full paying subscribers to discount subscriptions. They don't mind getting new discount subscribers that weren't going to pay full price anyway.
I’m not sure actually. I got it in August(?) but it never popped up when I went to get my registration renewed in December
you may want to look in the laws for this sort of thing where you live. Here, if the ticket issuer isn't city or government, there's not a lot they can do to get you to pay. So they basically try to intimidate you by implying they'll fuck your credit score... when they don't actually have the power to do it.
