Also I would totally post in the Astro Lounge thread in general but keeping up with one fast moving chat thread is enough for me.

 

Today was one of those magical days in which I barely had to teach. We had two different programs (drama and science) come to do presentations that were each an hour or so long, so I only had to teach for about 80 total minutes.

 

Can you do me a favour and work the invention of the illuminated tire into a lesson plan?

It was almost lost in history and I've been tirelessly (haha) breathing life back into it.

I've heard that JFK's death and the illuminated tire are linked. Maybe that's a good place to start your lesson.

I'd be careful with who you talk to about the illuminated tire and JFK's death. Those wounds run pretty deep.

 

I think rather than have my kids explore those connections, I will have them conduct research and write a paper on why it is that John Fitzgerald Kennedy would often go by Jack.
