I will concede that malt vinegar by itself is good on fries. Especially those that are fried in peanut oil. I more take issue with things like ketchup or ranch dressing that are bad on their own and drowning perfectly good potatoes in them. I could not use any kind of sauce on them for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy though.
Yeah, most of the time I get fries I don't use any condiments. I like ketchup on a rare occasion, but only with certain types of fries and in the right setting. It'd be last place in my "appropriate condiments for potatoes ranking"... borderline inappropriate.
