I don’t do horror and this was one of my favorites of the year.

  4. this isn’t remotely a horror movie. it’s barely a thriller.

It's definitely horror-esque, creepy shit happens

  6. Ya I'd say it's definitely in the ballpark, even though it's not a traditional horror.

    Assume It's A Bit

It's unnerving and creepy more than scary. If someone called this psychological horror or something, I probably wouldn't argue

I prefer to call it an erotic thriller

  9. it’s a period psychological drama

  10. It's actually a comedy

The scream immediately following this moment is still one of the funniest things I've seen all year

I wouldn’t really call it horror, but it’s worth mentioning to people that there are some really upsetting images. That tends to stick with me way more than traditional “scares”, so I never want to let someone get blindsided.

The most “horror-esque” element to this film has to be the final moments, IMO. The rest is foreboding and ominous, with lots of humor.

I’m happy the cinematography got a Oscar nomination, easily one of the best shot movies I’ve seen in forever. It also makes me wish that shooting with film would come back in vogue.
