Doctor denies treatment to 6-day-old baby after praying about her LGBTQ parents -- and it's completely legal
some terrific queer theory going on here in relation to how queer people interface with age and growth differently from straight people https://daily.jstor.org/queer-time-the-alternative-to-adulting "Protogay” children often do not make sense of their desires, pleasures, or experiences as “gay” until they are older; Stockton writes, “Since they are ‘gay children’ only after childhood, they never ‘are’ what they latently ‘were.’ ” So what are gay children, when they are children? To some extent, Stockton argues, they are “ghosts,” unable to corporeally occupy who they may later find themselves to be. Unable to occupy the reproductive trajectories that are held up as the norm even for young children: “The child who by reigning cultural definitions can’t ‘grow up’ grows to the side of cultural ideals."
I have a dumb question that I think is just the Seinfeld obsessive in me but I’ve still always wondered about it: When people identify their pronouns, why do they say, for example, she/her/hers? Wouldn’t the first one by itself suffice?
also youtube as a company is transphobic as hell pretending we don't exist or need resources will not actually stop us from existing and needing resources
It only cares about the corporations like itself, not its creators. People all across the board are being hit for the most mundane shit and it's been getting worse recently. :(
my memory was right this isn't the first time LGBT community anger over YouTube restrictions which make their videos invisible
Wait so then what's with YouTube and this #proudtocreate hashtag? Isn't that them being a little hypocritical?
yeah and it links to Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan videos so I guess it's cool if you're a white cis gay man but otherwise no
Taking my family to PRIDE festival in Boise this next weekend! Downtown is riddled with rainbow flags on all the lamp posts, and although this is very much Trump country, it's got a beautiful side of acceptance and inclusion as well. Going to be great being around young people filled with hope and optimism, and to expose my kids to all types of different people. Food is always 10/10 as well...which is what i'm most looking forward to :).
