The writer of Batgirl complimenting this movie by saying "more Batgirl than I expected" is the endorsement I didn't know I wanted.
I need to buy one of the Lego sets from the movie because Batgirl Lego is dope. I don't really like the DC super hero girls sets because the figures are different, but some of the regular sets with her are great.
My daughter loves the DC Superhero Girls line and has the Batgirl / Batplane set. I like the character design for that one
Getting more and more excited for this every day. LOVE The Lego Movie. Might have to catch this this weekend.
Seeing this with my wife for early Valentine's Day this weekend. If it's anywhere close to as enjoyable as The Lego Movie I'll walk away happy.
As expected, this was really funny. Lots of great references to old Batman stuff without being too inside baseball or overbearing. At times, it's a little too frantic and lacks that final act twist that made me fall in love with "The LEGO Movie," but still very good.
This was quite a bit of fun. Never stops hitting you with jokes. You don't even need to see the first Lego movie to thoroughly enjoy this one
Good to know. I'm behind the times and still haven't caught it yet, but planned on going back and watching the first one at some point.
There are so many Easter eggs for Batman fans though. You will still enjoy it, I would assume, but you won't get the full experience. This was great. Got my first laugh before the logos were done. Also, Doug Benson as Bane destroyed me.
My son and I just got back from this. Wow. I loved it. Better than the Lego movie. My son laughed so hard at the part where he does his "no" tantrum. It was exactly like my son's tantrums. Haha.
I liked this! Starts off really strong and kind of lost me a bit in the third act (from an enjoyment level, not because I was confused, haha), but it's a good movie.
This was a simply delightful love letter to fans of superheroes (particularly Batman, obviously). It did lose momentum in the back half, which feels like a weird thing to say about an animated film, but man, the humor was fantastic.
I loved this. All of the references to the movie and comic history had me dying the whole time. There's so many jokes/homages that it can get pretty inside baseball. I heard some people complaining after that "I was good, but there were people who were laughing when it wasn't even a funny part." which I guess I was guilty of to him but it was a joke that they just missed or a reference they didn't get. You can enjoy it if you're not a fan of Batman but hardcore Batman fans are gonna love this. My biggest complaint is wanting more time with the Batman villains, but that's more so me enjoying them in comics/cartoons than the story calling for them to be in it more.
I got too bogged down with the idea of every Batman movie/show being part of the same canon and how that would seem to yield a Groundhogs Dayesque nightmare loop some great voice work by Galafianiakis, Cera, Slate, Kemper and more I feel bad that I laughed hardest at the Marley and Me Joke and also every time Joker literally said pew pew pew
"My name is Richard, but everyone at the Orphanage calls me Dick!" "Yes, well, children can be cruel." Can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.
Saw this last night with the girlfriend, and had a big smile on my face the whole time. Loved all the references to past Batman movies, as well as all the voices of the characters. Micheal Cera as Robin was the best, in my opinion.
Just got back from seeing it. It was a lot of fun, especially all the various batman callbacks. Do agree it loses a little momentum in the latter half, but overall awesome.
