Now that I think about, Studio Ghibli doing a wind waker inspired film would be right down their alley

I don’t want them to adapt any of the games, personally.

Tell a new story the way they do with each game. There can be familiar characters, monsters, plot points, etc. That’s very much part of the series. But don’t use the exact same story as a game, please.

I would only want them to adapt a real game in a miniseries so they actually have time to cover stuff. OoT fit into a movie would be insane, for example

No way they adapt any specific game. It will be like the Mario movie I imagine. They’ll grab stuff from different games as nods but the story itself will be new.

Everyone I know is doom and gloom about this but I'm keeping my hopes up that it'll be awesome until I'm proven wrong.

Rooting for these Nintendo movies is like putting money on the Washington Generals.

Obviously, this one is going to be very different from the Mario movies. But, if that’s the quality level they’re going for, we are in for a bad time. Hopefully the people making this have different goals than the Mario ones.

A couple leaks from the crew were uploaded and then deleted lol

The first uploaded of a photo of the film’s logo which is the same font and style as Breath of the Wild and has the flower growing from the Z.
The DP then uploaded a photo of the film slate that showed Adult Link with the master sword. I’m guessing there might be time travel or the film covers multiple years.

I'm really hoping it's an Ocarina of Time movie.

My guess is that it’s going to be a mix of multiple games, with most of the story combining elements from OoT and BotW.

I think it would be a mistake to straight up adapt a game’s story.

It would be more fitting to the series if they tell their own story that uses concepts and ideas from the games. The games repeat characters/events/locations all the time but in varying contexts. They get to use the iconic ideas within whatever story they choose. The basic story can even be similar to the games even.

Leaning into BOTW/OOT concepts makes total sense.

New interview with Miyamoto about the Zelda film makes it seem like they are investing more in the story for the film, which will then carry into the games.
