I spent multiple hours today in the depths just lighting up roots. After exploring so much, I still am not finding anything down there that captures my attention or that I enjoy. It was definitely a trudge and finally I just said screw it after the immersion therapy proved unsuccessufl

 

Yeah, the depths unfortunately do nothing for me.

 

the best part of the depths is that you’re required to do very little of it

Glad to hear the depths aren’t hugely necessary as I’ve been completely avoiding doing anything down there

 

I've been in the depths once for 3 hours, and have no interest in going back down there. Which sucks, because I'm sure there's clothing/secrets/upgrades aplenty down there. Might just suck it up and spend a 5-6 hour sesh finding as much as I can down there.

 

The depths seems just as massive as Hyrule. But yeah I’m only going down there because I’m trying for some of those cool armor pieces.

 

Finally had time to put in some hours on this. Game is super cool.

Love the new abilities, so far. Stumbling across a group of knights to join them and attack a horse was sick. When I stumbled on the first hole to the abyss, I dove right in and didn’t realize when I need to paraglide, so I just fell all the way down and splatter in the ground, instant death. The music down there is creepy. My current theory is that Zelda is in the past and maybe current day dead. I’m just scratching the surface, and I’m loving it.

 

Done with trying to sneak up on these dumb fairies I just duped 90 of them

 

Now that I have all the towers lit up, I've started scouring the Kakariko Village area for shrines and whatever. I figure that and the Zoras will be my main project this next week.

 

After having a great time with this game for weeks, a couple days ago I had my first play session where I didnt really find anything interesting, then that night I got violently ill and have been feeling terrible ever since. The combination of these two things have unfortunately put me off the game for now.

Got to take a little break I think.

 

Just found the Stalnox underneath Lookout Landing lol, holy shit. This cave is insane. I’m assuming it’s leading me right into the castle, it just keeps going and going.

 

I was exploring this yesterday. It definitely goes on for way longer than you'd expect.

 

Yeah for real, that's where I found my soldiers helm

 

Also stalnox horns are fucking great fuse items

 

Made progress today. Pura Pad is fully upgraded, and completed several side quests and one main quest.

 

I appear to be in the minority about this but I dig the depths. There are some seriously scary and challenging enemies down there and I love the exploration. There is also a good reason I won't mention that finding lightroots is beneficial to your exploration on the surface.

Obsidian Frox is my nemesis and I will not rest until he dies.

 

I think they’re a cool addition, they’re creepy and also remind me of Dark World

 

I too love the depths. I get that it's a little monotone/samey, but I think you're not really supposed to explore it too much except for doing actual quests/explore an X.

The one that you get in the starting area of BotW is still ??????? I promised myself I wouldn't do this but I might actually google the solution lol

 

It is crazy how much easier this game gets once you get the Master Sword. You have get one super strong weapon that can take down strong enemies that you previously avoided, next thing you know your entire weapons slot is filled with 25-35 strength weapons from fusing strong looted weapons with strong monster loot and you have like 15 Black Moblin Horns in inventory on standby.

 

Have fun only have one battery for your builds the entire game then lol. If you want more battery slots then grinding in the Depths is kind of a necessity.

With the rate I have been going one quickish depths run can get me what I need for 1/3rd of a full additional battery .

 

Yeah that really is what they are there for kinda lol It’s really just a mine from a farm sim

 

I am at full two batteries right now, and I want to get to at least 4 ( which is halfway to the max) before I go back to doing the main quest, so might hit the Depths hard soon.

 

Plus the vehicle fights with the Yiga in the Depths are ridiculously fun.
