Yea I agree with this. I also agree with the general sentiment of the thread that the shrines aren’t as hard in this game as BOTW and overall I think I prefer BOTW. But this game is still very good.

I’m also only finished with 2 temples and 60 shrines so my opinion could change. BOTW is just an extremely high bar.

i wouldnt call it an "issue" but, i think so far in this game the shrine difference in my opinion is that the shrines in BOTW were, in a large majority, not reliant on using the runes to solve them. every now and then magnesis and stasis were utilized but, whenever i enter a shrine now in TOTK, my first thought is "ok how will i use ultrahand, rewind, or ascend to complete this", and, bingo bango.

Man, I feel silly. I've finished about a dozen shrines but it seems I've hit a few since then that stumped me. I'll have to revisit and knock a few out to get that stamina wheel buffed.

I struggled with a few shrines early on but it was because I was trying to think of it like BOTW. Truth is most of these shrines don’t have one set way to do things in the same way as that game generally did.

I beat that Wind Temple flux construct yesterday but at the cost of every single one of my handheld weapons, so I couldn’t even fuse the thing it dropped to anything, not even a goddamn wooden stick.

I’ve read a lot of comments about how people don’t ever want to go back to BOTW after playing this one. I may be in the minority group, but I still think BOTW has its charm and it’s definitely not dead to me. I miss the bombs, stasis, magnesis, and all that stuff. The shrines in BOTW feel a lot more rewarding than TOTK. The DLC stuff is a blast too.

I really need to start exploring the sky. I’ve been in the depths for like a week getting my shit kicked in.

I just spoke to Robbie and Josha and am about to enter the depths for the first time.

Or do I continue shrine hunting and tower opening? Every tower I've come across except 2 has thorns/gloom, etc. to do before unlocking.

I’m still on 1.1.1 and can still dupe.

Phew, turned off auto updates just in time. 1.1.2 definitely fixed the fun glitches.

So today I decided to continue with the main quest, which really translates to "stop at every shiny thing along the way".

I managed to light up another Skyview Tower, complete a few more shrines (including one in the sky), steal someone's treasure, meet my first Great Fairy, upgrade my clothes, and finally meet the bozos who want those frog gems.

I think that's enough for one day. Tomorrow is Friday, and this weekend, I'm meeting the Gorons, hell or high water.
