I'm nearing Akkala and the combat shrine where they take away all of your weapons by the stable is killing me, no idea what I'm supposed to do heh
Yeah I did the one where they're going around in a circle in the water on rafts, and just figured out this one with the robots. Wasn't too bad
Listen, you gotta let it go. Wii U was a bad idea, marketed poorly, and it failed. The good news is that the games didn't have to suffer.
I’ve been playing at least 20 hours and have hardly scratched the surface. haven’t gotten started on great fairies, only been down in the depths twice, only did one story temple, have 2-3 dragon tears, not sure how many shrines or towers I’ve done but I’ve probably done the most of those, but I’ve mostly been totally content to just run around on foot taking out enemy bases and finding new shit to explore
I know botw got the comparisons all the time but I only played a little bit of that game, but this game just reminds me of how Skyrim basically created the “walk in any direction and you’ll find something worthwhile every x amount of feet” template for open world games but outside of elden ring this is the only game that actually understands that philosophy and makes the overall story and narrative work within that framework (brilliantly by spreading out four different options on opposite ends of the map) whereas a lot of open world games have this weird mishmash of an explorable sandbox and a weirdly linear story path that guides you through it like a theme park (reminiscent of the questing flow found in theme park style mmo’s hence the name). a lot of the excitement of just finding cool shit all over the place feels inconsequential and less of a priority when a huge quest marker that you know pushes the narrative forward is in a totally different direction
Finally got my copy! Gonna smoke this joint and dive in Target still had the free bag with the game deal too so I was hyped about that
My stats so far: 18 Shrines 5 Towers 3 Geoglyphs I'm going to do Wind Temple part of the main quest soon.
