General question: what should I do first/early, aside from going to the four locations marked on the map for the main story? Specific question: when should I got to the town that has been attacked by pirates? And please don't give me the "wherever YOU want"
Does this game have the feature from BOTW where you can see where you’ve already walked when you pull up your map? That was so nice to have.
I've mostly been exploring the new/old Hyrule, activating towers, shrine hunting and now geoglyph hunting (hint hint: they're important!). Getting used to the controls of the new runes before going hard into temples is my goal and also building up more stamina and health. I am up to what i believe is the entrance to the Rito temple (at the sky ship with Tulin and i warped outa there because I didnt think i was ready), but I don't think I'll come back to the main story for a little bit. Might spend some time doing Newspaper side quests with Penn for a while. I want the Froggy armor.
Really disappointed that the strategy guide doesn’t come out for another month And yes, I know this game is all about exploration so fuck a guide, but I’m also a completionist and want to get everything possible.
I just finished the Rito temple and i only had 4-5 hearts. Its not too difficult as long as you bring some cold resistant food.
how does everyone feel about the complaint that 'it's just BotW with a new skin' or that it recycled a lot from the first one? I don't feel that way fwiw but I'm seeing that complaint pop up
Been thinking about that too. I also don't think you got that ability until you beat the game, right? I'm now discovering I didn't have any of my horses in a fucking stable at the end of BOTW. All my good horsies, gone. Starting to think that's partly why they've implemented the pony point system?
i am going to assume no, but, if i go back to BOTW now and stable some horses, will they retroactively appear in TOTK?
Honestly I’d go to the southeast/eastern region as it seems to be an easier path and just venture around
I could be wrong but I believe you can acquire this as an upgrade to your Purah Pad by doing quests for Robbie in Hateno Village.
This world feels so much denser and more alive to me than botw. From what I remember, botw felt like a lot of empty map filled with shrines and koroks. This is just filled to the brim with side quests and npcs everywhere I look, it feels a lot more crafted and has that “Zelda charm” I was missing in the last game.
Really getting frustrated with all the framerate drops in this game and how the plot kind of feels like a straight to dvd sequel plot so far (2 dungeons in)
(1) do Robbie’s quests into the Depths and then Hateno Village because you get so many huge upgrades (2) Locate all the towers so you can fast-travel around the world easily and can see the whole map (similarly, just “unlock” shrines without actually doing them for fast traveling to them just as well) (3) Do the Rito temple first because the power you get helps you with traveling and the others are just combat-based (4) Collect the Zoanite rock things from the Depths because you need those to upgrade your Energy Cell battery to use tech for longer The island attacked by pirates is just a bigger version of the monster raids, if you’ve done those yet (attacking a “base” and having to kill all the monsters to clear it). It’s mostly black-level bokoblins with some tougher exceptions, which you can mostly pick off in small groups, so if you feel like you’re handling those fine, it shouldn’t be all that difficult. I did it when most of my weapons were in the 20-30s strength and didn’t find it challenging
