Breath of the wild was, in a lot of ways, a new type of game. This feels like they took what they learned from that, and made a Zelda game on top of it.
just activated the first tower. oh my god it's the exact same game again it's the exact same game with new content. yayy I guess Nintendo isn't beating the full-size dlc allegations
Yeah you’re only like 2hrs into a massive game lol. I initially thought the same but there is so much more here than I had thought. The depths alone is crazy
Also basically every video game sequel is functionally the “exact same game with new content.” Halo 2 is an extremely similar game to Halo 1, but with different areas and more content. Very silly criticism
The best way to earn rupees honestly is to sell some rare items like ruby, sapphire, diamond, etc. although those will also probably make some good fuse items too for durability purposes, haha.
I could not disagree with this take more. ESPECIALLY if that’s your impression of activating a tower. Activating the towers is literally completely different and the most fun change in the game that I have seen yet.
When I said the discourse around this game is going to be insufferable, I didn’t quite mean like that. That take is somehow worse and just absurdly oblivious to the literal five hours you just played.
I decided to go into the depths under Hyrule Castle. I cannot believe how far it goes down. Also snagged that Hylian Shield.
Good thing Nintendo has a close relationship with Platinum otherwise that Wind temple boss fight would’ve been infringing something fierce
I was smiling ear to ear when I saw the boss name though (spoiler tagging because I want fans of a certain other Zelda game not to know that it’s a callback)
Lol yeah I love how similar it is to BOTW while still clearly being its own game. I’m having a blast.
I love when people complain about an absolute direct sequel being very similar as the first game. Same energy as the GoW sequel. what in the fuck did you expect?!?!?!
the advent of paid DLC has ruined people’s perception and expectations when it comes to follow ups and sequels I guess. if the game isn’t completely redesigned from the ground up it’s not enough
I did the initial shrines out of order and now I think I’m just stuck here without Ultrahand edit: pretty sure I have to start a new game which is a serious bummer
Idk how I missed this first shrine lol the game quite literally spells it out to you that this is the first one you’re supposed to go to and yet somehow I wound up doing the one on the mountain first. Yes I’m a moron.
It’s impressive you made it to the other shrine(s) without Ultrahand tbh, so feel at least a bit accomplished.
Im surprised the game even let you get in that position. These games are usually great in making sure you get the necessary pieces or always somehow giving you an out when you think you are stuck.
