I might go back and get some of the armor and shrines I missed. I think I did wind up doing over half of the overworld shrines
I played non stop when it came out and probably got 75% of the way to the end I just needed one more temple out of the first four so I came back months later and did that then just recently came back to do the last stretch of the main quest which took a good 5-10 hours. Overall I probably played 80-90 hours
I took my time before heading for Ganondorf. I was just under 200 hours the first time I beat the game. I spent another 200 attempting to 100% the game. I’m stuck on 99.75% and have no clue what I’m missing. I gave up haha Did a second play through last fall but didn’t do everything. Just shrines, light roots, and whatever side missions I felt like doing. I started a third play through a couple months ago and have been slowly doing more and more. I decided to get all the koroks before beating the game. I have around 70 left now. I’m not gonna do everything again. I’m not nothing with all of the signs or all side missions. But doing a lot. It has been fun to play after stopping for a few months.
I’m not big on 2D Zelda games, and the echo feature seems… idk. Not that exciting to fight with tables and rocks.
I played Link's Awakening on GB before I ever played OoT, and it was my introduction to the franchise, so 2D Zelda has a special place to me.
I would say "top down" is entirely different than "side scroller" at least in my definition. Like LoZ II was a side scroller, but every 2D Zelda that followed it was not.
I've been wanting a new top down Zelda and I've been wanting a game where Zelda is playable so now it's the best of both worlds. Easy day one purchase for me.
For sure, I get your point. I did enjoy Four Swords Adventure and Minish Cap back in the day but I largely prefer immersive 3d gameplay.
The green points at the top of the castle towers remind me of Hyrule castle in Smash Bros 64 and I love it
definitely the highlight of the Direct for me and the show was stacked. Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda and probably in my personal top 5 favorite games period. The remake was incredible and this looks like more of that with completely different gameplay. Color me hyped as hell
I wonder how much control if any we can have over the monsters we echo. Like it be would cool if we can point them in the direction of what to target kinda like Pikmin.
The algorithm did good work today, sending me an outstanding jazz Zelda album: Ocarina à la Vince Guaraldi. https://music.gamechops.com/album/zelda-jaz z
