I'm still pottering along here and there. I get so overwhelmed with side-quests and other shit that I've barely main-quested.
I really want to dive into my second play through, but I’m in the middle of preparing to move, so I have to wait. Maybe in a month or so.
earlier this year i polished off Elden Ring and Witcher III, and held off on playing TotK as i didn't want to burn myself out on huge-ass games prior to Starfield. 10 hours w Starfield left me feeling unenthused so i started this yesterday, and zero surprise, was immediately swept up. was impressed that so much of the intro was pulled right from the first teaser - clear they had a real direction from the beginning. also i really like the last thing you find before stepping out into the sky was legwear. "dawg at least put on some pants".
I’ve had quite a while to think on it after beating this game back in May and I think I’d have to put it under BOTW. This game is still amazing and one of the best Zeldas, but BOTW had a sense of awe that this one didn’t recapture.
Still enjoyed this way more than BOTW, but still don’t think either is what I want from Zelda as a franchise.
I'm still playing and I think I've still got a ways to go, even with over 100 completed shrines. The immensity and the endless opportunities of this game is exactly what I wanted out of BOTW but improved upon, which is why I'd rank TOTK above. I agree though that in future Zelda games, I'd like something more streamlined (with some aspects of open world- I love the side quests of this game) and a better main storyline, more dungeons actually populated with enemies, less focused on item collection. Ideally, this would also mean a main storyline that doesn't revolve around "collecting memories." Both games seem to take place AFTER catastrophic events and Link has to pick up the pieces--would be cool to see a game take place DURING the catastrophic event so there's a bit more action to the main plot.
I’m on my way to the lightning temple. Also did a really cool light puzzle in one of those floating spheres it was dope.
I still haven't played BOTW, but I'm looking forward to comparing the two. But even without playing BOTW, I feel like TOTK is probably guilty of including too much content. It's exhausting.
i put this down well over a month ago and havent really thought about it since. still havent beaten ganon, but thats basically all i have left.
It was the last thing I had left to do as well. Really two shrines is all I have left now, which I just have to find. Ganon was easy though after completing a majority of the game beforehand.
I got halfway through or so and had to turn it off because I was falling asleep. Not because of the video, it was just late. It started strong. I like his comments on the Great Sky Island. I think he articulated the issue with this opening vs BOTW. But everything after that I kind of saw where he was coming from, but I felt like it was hyperbolic and I just didn’t see them as that big a deal. I’ll probably finish the video today at some point.
Finally wrapping this game up after not touching it for months. Got the lightning temple and all the tears last night so all that’s left is hyrule castle
Same. Completed the Lightning temple and now I have to go back to lookout landing. I’m assuming I face Gannon soon?
me last night: alright only focusing on main quest from now on me right now: alright gotta get ten fireflies for this down bad flute player
