Are you talking about a rocket shield? Why waste a rocket when I could just use the spring that's there?
Sorry, I thought we were doing a bit naming all the abilities now. I put the answer to what I do in my OG reply. Do you RECALL what I said? Haha When it goes high, it’ll shoot blocks at you. I hop on one and use recall.
Oh, heh, I forgot the ability was called that. I also keep forgetting that's something I can do. That is a pretty good idea, thank you. I'm sure there will be encounters with no springs around, so that's good to remember.
That’s what I figured. Recall is so useful. I really like the new abilities. The only one I underutilize is auto build. But I’ve recently started using it more. I do remember one with springs. There might be only one? It’s not common at least. You could always drop your own spring from your inventory, as well. Edit: for the ones in low gravity, make sure the block you pick doesn’t roll when it hits the ground. You just fall off when you recall. Pretty sure the normal gravity ones almost never roll and always slide.
Just had a little adventure where I flew to a tablet preparing to take its picture and suddenly the ground started shaking. Before I knew it, the ground fell out from under me and I ended up following the tablet down into the depths, which is a hell of a way to meet your first Obsidian Frox. He wasn't nearly as terrible as I'd feared though. I found the nearest Lightroot so I could mark that area, and now I'm back out again, ready to explore some more sky.
Haha I remember the first time one did that to me. I was so confused. But my first one was not the one over a chasm, so I just glided to the ground.
I have been feeling pretty burnt out on this, and despite knowing I had a ton of side quests left, decided to just go to Hyrule castle to beat the game. I assumed I was initiating the final boss....but it just unlocked another story quest. How much more of actual story content do I have after starting the search for the fifth sage?
Yeah I'm a little burnt out too. I arrived at the water temple a week ago and haven't picked it back up
Well, each sage has a temple, so… a lil chunk. Im like 250 hours in and still addicted. What do you think is causing you guys to burn out? Like, what in the game is tedious or boring to you now? I keep finding cool things to do or complete even after beating the game.
I can't say for sure why, but it just isn't gripping me as much as BOTW did, which I put 160 hours into no problem
I have an old coworker who is in a similar mood on it. We tried to figure out why it’s not clicking with her, but she couldn’t really put her finger on it either.
Its just such a more dense game than BOTW. I was thinking about this the other day, there is a 0% chance i come back to replay this entire game again like i did with BOTW. going back and fully unmapping the depths again? No way. I’m gonna play this until theres nothing left to do and that may honestly be it.
Total opposite here. I can’t wait to restart it and do everything a different way now that I understand some things better. I totally underutilized zonai devices and fusing monster parts to weapons. I would approach it way differently. Do things in a different order, knowing what is super helpful.
For what it’s worth I probably have over 150 hours into it. I love the game but im at the point where I have a million side quests left and it feels like a chore to do them. I’m just ready to beat it and put it down
I kind of understand this feeling. Besides just being exhausted after work, there have been periods of maybe two or three days that I just haven't played the game. But the longer I spend away, the more psyched I get to continue on. That said, I agree with Sean that I will not be playing this game again once I finish it, unless there's DLC that gets released. It's the same way I feel about Elden Ring. I mean, I don't usually replay games anyway, for the most part, so if I'm going to play a game once, I'm going to get everything I can out of it. Once I'm finished with this, I debated whether to play BOTW, but I might just play some smaller PC games first before diving back into a huge undertaking.
What side quests? Some are whatever, but I think ones like the Mayoral Election and the Penn quests are interesting and add to the feeling of a living world, rather than some of the more minor fetch quests. And saving and rebuilding Lurelin Village? Great stuff, IMO.
I saved Lurelin but didn’t rebuild, haven’t fucked with Tarrey Town much or did the election stuff, countless other stuff. Just don’t have the motivation.
I played through BOTW like 8-10 times. I don’t play a ton of games, but the ones I like I play for forever.
I could never. I need new experiences. I'll replay a game if it's been remastered or remade, but it's rare that I'll just up and replay something for the sake of replaying it, especially with my massive backlog.
I only have a switch when it comes to newer systems. And I don’t buy a lot of games. I have a backlog for everything haha at some point I chose comfort for video games, so games I know well are satsisfying.
Not burnt on this, and still psyched to play it, but the fact that every single person I speak to in Hateno Village gives me a quest to do is fucking exhausting.
