I've got maybe 3 shrines left and they're all in the sky. Some of these are pretty difficult to get to and require flying crystals around lol
for all the hype about 'the sky' going into this game, i avoid it like the plague. so completely uninterested in exploring the sky lol
Found an awesome sky shrine tonight that had link diving through lasers just to get to the shrine and shit like in the trailer for the game. Was wondering where that was.
yeah its weird. sky is hard to get around in. and also there just comparatively isn't that much going on. You can't do the same "see a spot, head there, get sidetracked" like you can with the overworld or the depths either. Depths meanwhile I didn't even realize were a thing until the game came out. And they are really fun. (though it is a bit sad they are just one big biome as far as I can tell. imagine if the depths had some of the same bio diversity as the overworld... i'd never leave)
This isn't true if you have full batteries, the zonai outfit, and the right zonai flying vehicles. I see something I fly to that shit.
Also, with the sky stuff, it’s helpful to get up to the highest possible spot and then throw down a travel medallion. That way you can do what you need to do, then jump to another island chain, warp back to the high point, repeat. Same goes for some of the “boss” battles in the corners of the map. Put down a medallion and then go restock your supplies and travel back when you’re ready.
exploring the castle and unexpedtly stumbled into the glooms approach where i believe is the final path to the demon king battle and got the fuck outa there with haste
Finally on my second temple! Got all of the gongs, so ready to fight the fire temple boss. I'm a little scared though haha
oh wow that was actually a super easy battle haha, defeateddd. Thank god for a master sword fused with a blue lynel horn. Took down its second phase after only knocking it off the ceiling once. 20 hearts, baby!
Weird how Goron City isn't fully restored like Rito was after defeating the temple. Was expecting to see a lot of lava flowing and high temperatures
I noticed there were a bunch of parts where gloom had previously been in between some rocks and then it suddenly wasn’t, that’s about it lol
Yesss, Mayoral election complete. Finally have my shield back, I was so bummed when I lost it. Also sweet that I can now wear my Hylian hood down
I'm still shrine hopping and cave exploring, continuing to blaze a trail through the map. I did end up circling back to Zora Country, but decided to go around it in favor of more shenanigans. I want to hit a point where the only land regions I haven't explored are Gerudo areas and the Lost Woods, for story purposes. I'm getting very close to that point.
Wrapped this up last night at around 115 hours. Got all the shrines and roots, that's enough for me for now. So many sidequests left untouched but I feel the call of turn-based gameplay from my backlog beckoning me away
I’m at 185+ hours. 5 shrines left. Still some side quests, too. But if I can get the last five shrines this afternoon, I’ll probably beat it tonight and do side quests after.
At 60 hours, two temples done, 20 hearts, master sword and Hylian shield, dragon tears completed, and 88 shrines. The fire temple was surprisingly quick yesterday, and I've already visited Sidon but haven't triggered the quest yet, so I think I might go for two back to back temples over the course of two days. Then I'll wait a bit to do the others, because I'm scared of Gerudo and redeads, and the spirit temple quest to get the missing body parts sounds kinda tedious and annoying
I’ll say again that the gerudo stuff has been my favorite main quest stuff in the game. The mummys are easily taken down when youve got Riju with you.
