How the heck am I supposed to beat a talus who has the stone on his ass lol. I can't climb on top to spin to win, and he turns around too quickly to get behind him. He also apparently doesn't get stunned when I shoot an arrow at the stone??
So I've been slowly working my way through this game. My style of play is "oh, that looks interesting, let's go check that out" and see what happens. I've beaten the wind temple and added a coupe heart containers and extra stamina from shrines...I feel like I don't have a good bow or weapon at this point in the game though since everything is breaking on me. I know bokoblin fused arm is a decent early weapon - any advice on where to get a better bow/weapons?
Haven't had much luck with bows but I think there might be some decent ones in the castle. In terms of swords, don't worry about how weak your base sword is. Just demolish strong enemies and harvest their parts for fusion. Black Bokos have very high fusion power in their horns. Stalnox horns are the strongest I've found so far.
I have roughly the same strategy for all of the talus enemies which is Recalling his boulder arms back into him (as mentioned above). It's still tough though when the stone is so low on his back. It's usually best to just use an arrow with something fused to it to shoot the stone to get off more hits (or fuse a Keese eyeball and let it automatically find the stone). Bonus points if you can find something to jump off of and shoot your arrows in slow motion.
Any of the dragons are great for early/mid-game fusion materials. You can shoot different materials off them every 10 minutes depending on where you aim (scales, claws, fangs, horns), but they all also have shards embedded in the spikes on their backs that you can just run along and collect. Farosh, lightning dragon, is probably your best bet just 'cause the other 2 require cold and fire resistance to get on top of. You can do a quick google search to see her exact path, but she flies around the southwest before eventually going into the Lake Hylia chasm. So you might have to just stand around and wait like a putz for a while but it's mostly worth it.
I fought one of those, but he totally got stunned when I fired an arrow at the stone, so I dunno what's up with yours.
Don’t know it someone said it yet but weapons that spawn on those ghostlike figures on little stone mounts in the depths are not decayed and break way slower. Use those to fuse good stuff to. A good alternative is killing the tree enemies to get sturdy thick sticks and fuse stuff to those.
I think I may be experiencing my first bit of burn out on this. Time to take a break (I'll probably play all weekend).
...I don't know why it didn't occur to me I could fuse stuff to the Master Sword Yeah I'm putting it down for a while
Thought I’d be able to put some quality time in this last night since I didn’t have to get up early for work, and just spent the whole time getting destroyed in that shrine where you’re supposed to use the homing carts to help kills all the constructs. So frustrating. Tried again this morning and got it on the first try.
This one was difficult for me as well. I ended up basically having to spring around to the back/side where that separate platform is. Then I could get some space and build some weapons.
I love the shrine where all the robots are on boats circling the area, and all you have to do is grab the boats and shake them and the robots just fall into the water like fools.
You wouldn't love it if you weren't smart enough to try that. This one also took me like 50 tries, sneaking around to kill each one. I'm not very good at this game turns out.
I had to Google the solution to like all of those shrines where they take away your clothes and weapons. Once I realized what to do, they were pretty easy
Yeah I finally made a mad dash to the platform on the right since it doesn't have a ramp for them to get you, assembled that guy and threw it at them while they pelted me with rocks. Once you get on the back of the main platform and get the beam guy assembled he's takes them out pretty easily.
I try not to and then if I do google it, it always ends up being super easy and I'm way overthinking it.
My wife said she may want to play the dance dance game or something later, so me, being the great husband I am, said of course. So I saved my game, closed the software so I could take the game out and she could put hers in later. Well goddamnit the game automatically updated and the dupe feature is no more. If she’s not dancing her heart out by the end of the night…
I have over 300 poes I have no idea what to do with. What/where are these poe statues you all speak of? I've been grinding the depths (48 lightroots so far) and found nothing.
