It's all content added to the previous world/no new areas, 16 new shrines, revamped versions of the divine beast fights and a new Divine Beast/dungeon. It takes place after beating the four Beasts but before beating Ganon. There's minimal story, just some quick backstory on each of the champions so far. Also some miscellaneous things like new armor/world enemies/items, stuff like that.
Thanks! I'll pass then, not really what I'm looking for I guess. I had my fill of divine beasts and shrines.
Are the new shrines and armor/fear scattered and you have to search like around the entire world to hopefully find them, or is the new stuff located in a certain area?
The new armor/items are just added to the world, I think, but you're guided to all the new shrines as a story quest.
I probably would have gotten it regardless if it would have allowed you to roam the world post-Gannon, even it that would have only brought slight environmental and dialogue adjustments, like in some Fallout games.
That sounds awesome. I already bought the DLC for master mode alone, so everything else is a bonus for me.
The way you have to unlock the first four shrines has been super fun, but so far I have been taken out by bees, bats, and running into a spike. Not my greatest moments, ha. Switching gears from Mario back to this has been a bit of a challenge. I keep wanting to jump around with Link.
There's 16 new shrines. Most of which were extremely creative and challenging. There's either an interesting new twist or something completely new. They do not just appear in the world. You have some challenge/puzzle to find and unlock them. I liked how it was done. The first 4 are a fun, but often frustrating, challenge on the plateau and then the dlc really opens up with 3 shrines in each divine beast region, relating to each of the champions. That's where all the story really begins though it's mostly just backstory. I really liked the Divine Beast puzzles and the new one is really great. How it was integrated into the world was the most unexpected thing. Not that it's a high bar, but it ends with the best boss fight in the game. It's not a blight!
I think it’s a little Hard to actually find the new shrines after the first 4. (as in the ones not marked on your map)
I haven't played since I beat Ganon a long time ago so coming in with both DLCs downloaded was a little intimidating. So many new quest notifications! The Hero's Path Mode is amazing and I'm so glad that it exists as I didn't realize how many places there were that I didn't visit despite putting like 80 hours into the game.
when i finished the game I was at 105 hours with only 86 shrines, and after using hero's path I saw I covered like so little of the map so I had no idea what I was doing at all lol
i'm still exploring trying to build up stuff before going through the castle, where i keep dying, so maybe i'll do the DLC
I had this problem switching back to Skyrim after playing Breath of the Wild for a while. I kept trying to climb mountains.
