I finally decided to go beat Ganon. After 106 shrines, over 100 hours, and 26 hearts. It was easy. No food, no Mipha's grace, first try. So glad I mastered how to parry.

 

Also decided to beat ganon at 106 shrines. Just under 80 hours. 28 hearts haha

 

I finally got around to doing my last divine beast earlier in the week (Thunderblight Ganon was definitely the hardest of the 4). It still blows my mind how huge this game is as I've got another couple areas to explore before I even head to the castle.

Also, the Radiant armor set is my favorite right now, ha.

 

Is anyone else legitimately worried about how Nintendo plans to follow this up? I can't imagine not being disappointed on some level.

 

They followed Ocarina of Time up with Majora's Mask and in only 2 years

 

Yeah but OoT didn't redefine the franchise the way BotW did. (Being the first 3D instalment doesn't count.)

 

I would say that being the first 3D installment of Zelda was pretty redefining for the series

 

I can think of a lot of things they could do better so I'm not really worried. I think the only way I'll be disappointed is if they just try and make the same game again but bigger, with even less focus on story.

 

Ehh, going 3D was a foregone conclusion once sufficiently good hardware came around, and it's not as though going 3D brought a massive shift in terms of game mechanics.

 

You could say the same about open world. Also 3D changed just about everything from a gameplay perspective...

 

going 3D changed EVERYTHING about the mechanics. it changed how puzzles could be solved, how enemies were fought, the sense of verticality in the world. literally everything.

 

Yeah I simply don't find that as big a change as the one to BotW. Combat and puzzling wasn't fundamentally changed besides having an extra dimension to take advantage of.

 

I pray we get a Majoras Mask type sequel.

 

A bit. I mean I'm not expecting less, but I definitely wouldn't hype myself haha.

But I probably will when they give an announcement in a few years.

 

Better/more dungeons, more varied bosses, better story and a cool green tunic and I'll be happy.

 

I love the dungeons. If they bring back Ocarina-style dungeons I'd be disappointed as shit.

 

I don't want a specific kind of dungeons I just don't want four of the same thing. I loved the Elephant but then when the next three were all so similar it was disappointing. It makes sense within the context of this game but I definitely don't want the same again next time.

 

Do you not like the wild tunic/cap/shorts?

 

Not really, I think it looks lame but even that I could deal with if you didn't have to finish close to the entire game to get it, lol.

 

They could add some of the scrapped ideas, like adding the Minish towns.

 

I'd looove minish towns.

 

I hated Majora’s Mask haha.

BOTW was pretty amazing. I agree more diversity in dungeons would be nice.

I thought the simplicity of it was perfect. Games like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and Skyrim are just too much for me.

 

I'm not saying BotW was easy but I would prefer a more story driven/more difficult game.

 

BotW was easily the most difficult Zelda game for a long time.

 

I did not like Majora's Mask either. BOTW is starting to feel a bit repetitive, but I don't mind somehow. It's very weird.
