Once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty manageable.

You'll get what you need as part of the desert story quest. Also if you do it at night, the desert is cold so you cold-resist gear will do the trick.

I really, REALLY have to find away to get the selfies I take from the game to the system capture folder. They are just too good to no post on social media. haha

Finally broke down and finished it after 80 hours. Hyrule Castle was insanely fun and I spent a long time exploring it. All Shrines and Memories completed.

Going to restart the game so I can complete everything. I didn't bother with the Compendium and now I can't get photos of the bosses and some of the guardians. Also going for stuff like the Mini-Boss Medals of Honor, All Armor Sets, 900 Korok Seeds, 76 Side Quests, etc. that I didn't complete on my first play-through. Should keep my occupied until the DLC hits.

Half annoyed at myself, half annoyed at the game for today's session. (Spoilers: Zora dungeon)

First dungeon for me. I get in the dungeon. Couldn't figure out how to get into the map room because I brain farted on the whole "use freeze thing to raise gate" move and though "Eh its just the map in there looks like something will probably open it up later because there is no way in". Still manage to get past the first few sections.

Then spend 30+ minutes trying how to get the second wheel spinning (maybe push the first wheel over somehow???) / seeing if I can do any interesting things with bombs and stasis to open up that gate (I could open it, but had to use statis to get the ball there so couldn't freeze it there) / anything else (is there a second entrance???) to progress. Peer into the room with the map to see if there is anything in there, looks like just the map so don't really spend too much time trying to figure out how to get in because having the map won't really help.

Finally decide I'm stumped, tell myself I might as well try and get the map and maybe my brain fart will be revealed as a last ditch effort before bed. Remember how to get into the map room... and then oh its not just the map it also gives you controls for the divine beast.

Obviously its somewhat my fault for not remembering how to get into that room and really trying to enter it sooner. But felt like the game could've done a much better job making sure you actually went in and unlocked the power to operate the divine beast. Solving puzzles is fun. Solving puzzles without the right pieces... not so much.

Hopefully the rest of the dungeon I saved for tomorrow / the other dungeons will be more enjoyable now that I know better not to be dumb =)

I had an identical experience to this haha. Was very satisfying in the end though, and I love this beasts particular mechanic.

Haha yup, did the same thing myself. Spent so much time trying to figure out how to get those two COG wheels to work together.

Yes it is! I believe it just has a cooldown period after you use it a bunch.

I got so lucky with the blood moon shrine. I found the platform by accident as a blood moon was occuring.

It sounds overwhelming but it isn't. Although the world is crazy big, there is a lot of guidance for those that want it. Follow the roads and the directions the NPCs give, especially early on, and you'll gain all the skills and knowledge you need for this game.

That is promising, thank you! I'm a pretty casual gamer and feel like there is so much to know in this one but in a world as beautiful as this looks, I don't mind if I have to stumble through it for a while until I develop a knack

I'm moving through this game so slowly compared to most of you. Just defeated the beast in Zora's domain tonight, and I think I'm 22 shrines in. Loving every minute though.
