From what I've read, people suggest taking stamina upgrades over hearts because food is more plentiful for replenishing hearts. But I haven't gotten far so I don't know
FWIW there's a hearts/stamina respec somewhere in the game so don't worry about it. I've been going mostly hearts but the extra stamina is pretty useful.
I've been following this thread wishfully because Lord knows when I'll get myself a Nintendo Switch since I didn't preorder. I've definitely enjoyed reading about this world and I'm psyched about exploring it. That said, some of these comments about it taking so much time to get beyond one area has me a little worried. It's exciting in one sense and I'm looking forward to the challenging aspects of the game, but I'm almost worried now that I'll think the world in this game is too big. I'm almost 100% sure that when I get my hands on a game in the next month or two those worries will be irrelevant. But does it ever get overwhelming?
Right on. I need this game. I don't think I've ever said I need a game before, but life has beaten me down lately and I need another world to just live in and explore as I work through my problems. It sounds so cathartic. Highly regretting not preordering right now.
It is big, but not overwhelming. And since the only way to really "level up" is through finding shrines, it kind of needs to be so big and foster a sense of exploration. I think it refines and simplifies a lot that makes games like Skyrim or the Witcher 3 overwhelming without sacrificing depth
I got this one by standing on the bridge on the lake by the stable in the southeastern region and shooting arrows at the dragon as he went under it. I think he's there only at night time.
Do the bird first. It's the easiest after the elephant and you get an ability that makes exploring the world much easier. I found the camel to be the most difficult dungeon with the most difficult boss.
I made very little story/shrine progress last night but a lot of finding really tall hills and mountains and shield-boarding the shit out of them progress. one of the shrines I did stumble upon has been the most frustrating puzzle I've tried yet however
I'm in New York right now, couldn't find a case so unfortunately my switch is at home. All I can think about is Zelda.
yeah it's absurd. First time I took my Switch out of the house I put the screen section in one of my hats and inside the laptop sleeve of my backpack and the joycons in a fabric-lined pocket. A small carrying case would be a godsend rn
I got the minimalist black Mario case and it works well as "bring it to work" kind of case, but I have the PDP traveller case preordered and will use that primarily.
Anybody have any idea how long Switch's are gonna be sold out? I need this fucking game more than anything
I would be willing to bet by next weekend stores will have a decent stock again. Also sign up for stock updates from amazon if you haven't already.
I've been putting in my satchel when traveling in it's own compartment. I'd rather not advertise that I'm carrying one around.
I can't believe how into this game I am. I have an admittedly short attention span, and it's really barred me from getting the same experience from some of the bigger titles of recent years that most others seemed to be having. Witcher III, Fallout 4, etc. are all games that on paper I would love, and I do enjoy, but they don't grip me fast enough or for long enough to be able to sit down for hours and make substantial progress. As I've said before, I gravitate towards handheld games, because I can for example farm for hours in Rune Factory while I catch up on a show or podcasts. 90% of my favorite games are handheld. This is the exception, and funnily enough, I have the option to play handheld but have found myself with the recliner pulled up to the TV 95% of the time instead.
