The snowball bowling mini game is an excellent way to make rupees. I had spent p much everything i had on the house and an ancient bow and arrows. Strike gets you a gold rupee and a spare gives you a silver. 20 rupees to play.i spent a half hour there and made almost 3000.
also i might add, the most consistent method i found to to get strikes was to stand a little behind and to the left of the rock thats by the snowball, and throw it to the right it's not perfect but I'll at least get a spare 80% of the time
Where does this franchise go after this game? It'll be hard as fuck to top. But now that they have a new engine developed, can't they just make a new game in a much shorter span? Only 2 years between Ocarina and Majora. I'm hoping something similar with this new take on Zelda.
I started this game Sunday at 10am. I literally played until 5am Monday taking only one break to eat and stuff. Then I woke up at 10am and went at it again. Now I'm finding time between work and school. The best part is that now, over 20 hours in, I've only done one of the Divine Beast missions and I have only explored the East. This game is incredible. I haven't been this lost in a world in a long time
I did the same from Friday at 2pm until Sunday at 9pm and I've had hardly any time to play since. Feels bad.
Yeah this engine holds so many possibilities for where the franchise can go from here. They can't just make Breath of the Wild 2, though, or everyone is going to tar and feather them for not making something different enough. Maybe they go with one of those weird early BotW concepts and make a Zelda in a modern-day or future setting. Maybe they lean even harder into sci-fantasy than they did here and make a world more similar to that found in, say, Xenoblade Chronicles 1. And as for the open world, I don't know how they do another one and not have it feel same-y to BotW. But I also don't think people will be too happy with them if they return to a more directed experience (even if it's more loose direction a la Ocarina of Time, as opposed to heavy direction like in Skyward Sword). Plus they need to come up with a new art style, because as gorgeous as BotW is (and it is), I'd be a bit disappointed if they didn't switch up the art style like they usually do. They've really backed themselves into a corner here.
Honestly I don't want them to go real world or futuristic. This is about as sci-fi as I want them to go. I'd be fine with them sticking to the same art style as well for a second game just because I think it would help get one out quicker and I still think this is the perfect version of Link/Zelda. I think I'd want a smaller, less grand world but a weirder one, still open world but slightly more focused. More dungeons, a more focused narrative. I feel like the Ocarina comparisons are apt here in that they've once again perfected what a typical Zelda experience can be. Now they need to make things weird, just not aliens or motorbikes. Bring back Majora's Mask. Like the actual Mask, that was so cool. Let's see what Termina looks like in 2017.
New favorite moment in the game- was riding through Akkala region just looking for shrines/memories, admiring the fall colors and the sun was getting close to setting when suddenly a soft piano version of the original zelda theme started playing. It gave me goosebumps. This game does so much for me in these quieter moments.
I just like seeing what they come up with in terms of art styles. I remember being blown away by Skyward Sword in 2011 and then again with this game in 2017. It's just always surprising what they can come up with to differentiate their games visually from everything else out there on the market. As for the game world, I'll be along for the ride no matter what they decide to do, whether it's more strict fantasy or more sci-fi. It's their franchise and I'm never going to not play a Zelda game. I definitely think a slightly smaller, more focused open world with a quicker development turnaround wouldn't be a bad thing by any means. I think the change from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4 in terms of a smaller-yet-more-dense open would is a good comparison for them to shoot for. And yes, more dungeons would be great. I know we have the shrines here but still, only four dungeons is maybe my biggest complaint about BotW.
I'm running around the ice area melting shit with the spear on my back since it is gonna break and I have no arrows. lol
As much as I love this game, it's not quite scratching my 3D Zelda itch. I know the old formula was getting tired, but I still really enjoyed the last couple games. It's just kinda weird knowing we probably won't get any more games in the same vein as OoT.
When you find him, remember to take a picture of him BEFORE you speak to him. I didn't and he disappears right after the conversation.
