Finally got a good few hours of playtime in yesterday. Got the story breakdown in the temple of time, heading to Kokariko village now, got distracted by a couple more shrines though. Game rules.
It's not that bad once you get more hearts. You can easily get fairies and stock up on food to buff you.
I got through Hateno Village and decided to take a break from the story and explore some. I went back to the plateau and searched for Koroks for awhile. I think I found almost all of them in the GP. Then I did some Shrines and went to get more inventory slots. I love that I can stop and do stuff like that.
I found out yesterday there were over 900 koroks in the game and immediately put the thought of ever finding them all to rest lol.
Like twice. I have 15 hearts at the moment. Probably going to do some stamina next. Also the number of seeds needed for an inventory slot gets a lot higher pretty quickly.
So those seeds keep increasing by one every time? That's crazy. I figured there'd be a cap at some point, or that it starts back at one when you expand one of the other slots (I've only expanded melee weapon slots three times at this point, figured if I went back to expand shield or bow slots it'd go back to 1 for those and start from there). I have enough for three more expansions on me currently. That "900 Koroks" rumor makes a lot more sense now, though.
I expanded my hearts three times and my stamina three times, presently. I'm going to probably keep alternating them for the time being. Can anyone confirm whether you get heart containers for finishing the Divine Beasts? I'm about to do Vah Ruta when I get home from work and that will factor into my decision re: what to expand with my spirit orbs.
They start going up by more than one too, like the jump goes 3-5-8. They do go to 1 for bow/shield though. They each have their own progression. Also you get hearts from Beasts, yeah.
Oh so they do have their own progression, that's cool. But damn that's harsh as hell. And nice, so that's four more guaranteed containers on top of whatever I get from the spirit orbs. That'll definitely play into my upgrading decision. Thanks.
Re: the Spring of Wisdom: Yesterday I also freed Naydra from the blight, which was such an incredibly cool encounter. Not that this was particularly hidden, but just in general the designers keep surprising me with such amazing shit hidden throughout the world, I feel like this is going to be a game where people are still discovering crazy awesome things hidden away years from now.
fought my first guardian last night and it was one of the coolest/most thrilling experiences so far in the game, especially the discovery that you could incapacitate them by cutting off their legs. used up a lot of weapons fighting them however. Also, been cutting through the middle of the map on the way to the second divine beast and the shrines are starting to get a lot more complex. Or at least one I found in the same map section as the castle had like 5 puzzle rooms so I'm really hoping to find more of those.
