Hah, I just finished this one too, also pretty sure my equipment was too weak but I did it.

 

Ive put at least 24 hours into this and i just now got to zoras domain. Gonna try to make it through first dungeon before i take a break

 

Is this the one near Hyrule Castle?

Also there's a longer puzzle shrine just above the Great Plateau near Hyrule

Also to anyone done with Zora's domain, in case you didn't get it the zora greaves is a side quest reward. Take a photo of Lynel.

Most fun I've had in a game in a really really really REALLY long time.

 

couple things:
-found 3 really good swords then immediately used them all up on one of those mini-guardian shrine fights
-have only unlocked the first 3 map sections, this game is so massive

seriously have not been this enthralled in a game in a really long time

 

is the modest test of strength trial the one on that tiny island? if so, I really got my ass kicked all over that shrine

 

That's major test, modest is a little easier.

 

and as I say that I decide to go back and try Major Test after getting destroyed the few times I tried it earlier and I beat it. Yay!

 

ok, the way boomerangs work in this game is fucking awesome

 

So can I not go up death mountain with any wooden items on my person? I don't have them equipped but they're still catching fire in my inventory.

 

I'm about 4 hours in, I think. Just left Kakariko Village, and gonna smash through the Shrines in that area before moving on.

 

Oh my god. The Labyrinths are amazing. Guardian chasing me around is straight up Maze Runner. The game being jam packed with stuff like this more than makes up for the lack of traditional dungeons. And I LOVE the "dungeon" concept for this game. Reminds me a little bit of Shadow of the Colossus.

 

Eventide Island is one of the coolest things I've seen so far. Stripping you of everything but your Sheikah Slate and paraglider and then making you forage for supplies and gear while you try to put three stone orbs into their altars is pretty harrowing, almost Far Cry-esque. Whoever at Nintendo came up with this area deserves a medal.


Location: It's in the far, far southeast corner of the map, in the middle of the water. You need to use a raft+Korok leaf or hop cry pillars to get there.

 

When should I attempt my first dungeon? I've captured two memories so far and I've done 13 trials

 

If it's the beast I think you're thinking of, you need to shoot an eye to start the event. Then you need to follow it and shoot the rest of the eyes as it goes. That's is, if it's what I think it is.

Edit: just read that you figured it out. Good stuff.

 

13 trials means you're at around 5 hearts or so yeah? That's probably enough to not get one shotted by stuff. My advice though is to cook food that gives you lots of extra hearts before fighting the boss.

 

Did it with 5 hearts but make sure you have the upgraded metal armor.

 

what does finding those memory locations get you?

 

12 hours in. Surface still not even scratched.

 

Today, I started playing A Link To The Past. This is the first time I've ever played a Zelda game, haha! I've already beaten the first level! Yay! :)

 

Getting one of them gets you Link's original tunic. Don't know about once you find all 12 of them.

 

I spent nearly all of today playing this game and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm not really one to marathon games like this, but I just can't stop.

Had to stop for the night, reached Zora's Domain and I'll do the first dungeon tomorrow. I'm going to try and take it a bit slower over the next week, I'd like to balance this and Nier Automata.

 

This is probably my favorite game. Enjoy it!

I got to play this today and wow it's so different than any other Zelda game. I think I love it

 

Favorite part so far in this game has been trying to swim to an Island, coming up just short, chopping down a nearby tree and pushing it into the water as a dock and then jumping off the log and reaching the island, this time having enough stamina to make it. I've only had a couple of times so far where I've gone "I wonder if I can do this..." and found out "no" and those have all simply been game mechanics (can't chop down big trees) than applications of the mechanics to solve problems.

 

I woke up at 10am and I have been in bed playing ever since. I got up once to eat and pee. Unfortunately, I have to do homework now but I plan on playing late into the night. The funny thing is that I haven't really gotten much done but I still feel fulfilled

 

I made it to the third dungeon earlier before I had to stop because my girlfriend went to work. Hopefully I'll get to play more tomorrow but my Zelda weekend is over now. :(
