Im going to have to wait for my tax return for the switch, but I'm playing on Wii U now and it's still just as mesmerizing.
Zelda is the only damn reason I would buy a freaking switch (would end up playing MARIO and MARIO kart and a few other games as well) so I'm pissed about the pricing. Haha
Just got to the first shrine. I love this game so much already. I'm having fun just chopping down trees and cutting wood, ha.
my brother got it on the WiiU i'mma see if i can snatch that and play it when he's not on it. i don't wanna wait 3 weeks til my bday in the event some family gets me a Switch
So in love with this game. It's crazy how huge the world is while still feeling like Zelda. It just makes everything feel like it's much grander.
I'm loving this a lot so far. Still on the plateau, but this game already feels massive. I don't really like the whole breakable weapon thing, and I struggle with the climbing at times, but overall, this is insane
I'm really pleased to see the super positive reactions here and elsewhere. Can't wait to eventually dive in.
Got my copy on the Wii U this afternoon. I'm hooked. Also, I absolutely got my ass kicked by the first batch of bokoblins. Still getting used to the controls and all that. Totally different gameplay mechanics than what I'm used to. Such a different feel overall. Nothing like previous Zelda's where you're just hanging around town talking to people and playing mini games until Ganon shows up and does some crazy shit. They just kind of throw you out to an open field in this one and are like "figure it out... go climb a mountain and shit".
Anyone else climb the dueling peaks and do those two shrines yet? Definitely my favorite thing I've done so far, tough to find the right route to climb (at least this early) but so rewarding when I finished. Also a neat little puzzle in that pair of shrines that I wasn't expecting.
Yeah they were great. One of my favourite puzzles too. Also I love the weapon durability and i usually hate that mechanic. I've just always got so many cool weapons that I never worry about them breaking and it makes me try out weapons I'd never touch otherwise. I love the Korok puzzles too. There's so many of them that I'm finding them constantly and always feeling good. Those and the shrines are the most compelling reasons for exploration I personally have ever had in an open world game because they're super fun and you get something useful. Also these towns are incredible!!
Yeah I've only been to Kakariko but the way the town operates feels like Majora's Mask on steroids. There's a lot that I love about what I've played so far; but to be honest, my favorite thing about the game is that the maps aren't cluttered with symbols. I can go explore and do things at my own pace and not have to feel like I have to clear the map. The NPCs in this game are great. Enemy AI is surprisingly pretty deep. I feel like something takes my breath away every 10 minutes. I will love the art style in this game forever. My one complaint is the voice acting leaving a lot to be desired. Calling it quits for the night. Can't wait to jump back in tomorrow.
I didn't want to buy a switch (or a Wii U) just for this, but now that it's out and I've seen it and I could be playing it but I'm not, I might have to
