Yeah, I have a feeling that this trailer is the equivalent of the Mario Odyssey trailer before the cappy reveal. I think the character in the sky might not be Link. Hoping for a female playable character this time.
Wow, A Moderate Test of Strength took me anywhere between 20-50 tries, only to immediately stumble upon A Major Test of Strength right after. First shrine that I just completely bailed on. Feel like I need better gear and to be better at this game in general lol. Had to bail on the Zora Domain divine beast after getting my ass handed to me by Ganon a million times, too. Anyone have advice on finding good gear and rupees? It's been days since I've seen a sword that can be used with a shield - everything I find is two handed. Found a ton of rupees and a Goron shield at the Labrynth, though.
I don’t know how you feel about walkthroughs. There are some great weapons you can get at any point in the game. Check it out on YouTube.
Thanks a lot, will do! Yeah I don't mind walkthroughs at all. Of course, right after I said I can't find any good weapons, I immediately stumbled across the Thunderblade. So that's cool!
Man, I would play an entire game of the Kamia Omuna shrine from the Champion's Ballad (the one where you use bombs to shoot the red orbs at moving targets on a wall). So fun.
Also, since it seems pretty clear they won't be releasing WW, TP, OOT or MM on the Switch anytime soon, I bought a used Wii U and N64 last night.
I've never played Wind Waker and I've been dying to. I have a GameCube. Should I just get the game? Or is there really a good reason I should play it on Wii U instead?
Wind Waker is so damn good. Highly replayable. Would love to see it on the Switch one day. Honestly the remakes they’ve been doing have me scratching my head.
Wind waker on Wii U is great, my gamepad thing broke awhile ago though and I still play it just on the pro controller lol. I love my switch but I don't understand why Nintendo just can't have the virtual console games, hell I should have been able to redownload them from the Wii U
So the first time I played this game like two years ago, I used guides for everything without even trying them, and I had a much less fulfilling experience than I'm having this time (it's also the first time I beat Ganon). I'm going through the memories right now, which I remember finding so impossible the first time around. This time, with the amount of time I've been putting in just wandering around the landscape, it's kinda surprising me how easy I'm finding it. Look at the picture, nail down a landmark, and then just hunt in that area 'til you find it. I'm so used to how most games just tell you exactly where to go (even if there'd be no way for your character to know where they were going), that I love when you actually have to do the work (they do the same with the locations for the shrine challenges for the DLC).
The biggest advantage of Wind Waker on the Wii U is that they completely streamlined the sailing aspect, which can get incredibly frustrating in the standard version of the game.
Considering how little people owned the Wii U and how well the Switch sells and continues selling, it still makes no sense to me that we don’t have the HD ports of Wind Waker or TP. I’m still convinced we get them, even if it’s not this year.
Hell yeah, finally beat Waterblight Ganon. Definitely pays off to get some upgrades and food - beat him on my second try this time. I must have tried like 20 times or so when I only had 3 hearts and some mediocre weapons. Mipha's Grace sounds sooo useful, if not kind of OP haha. It's going to help me out of a lot of difficult situations
Thinking of actually buying this while it's on sale. I only played it before because my roommate had it
Yeah that $55 bundle is a freaking steal. I got my base game for $49 two weeks ago. Should've waited so I could have gotten the DLC for even less than the $14 it's on sale for now
Is there any way to see how many stamina vessels I have? I came across the Lost Woods finally to get the Master Sword, but only have 7 hearts.. no idea if I have enough vessels to trade for another 6 hearts. This is my loading screen.
Oh rad, I had no idea that I could trade-in from the original wheel too! Figured I could only trade the stamina vessels I acquired throughout the game. I might actually give this a shot.
Haha yeah, I'm still hunting down shrines and towers before I work on the main quest, but man, they really get a lot harder to find as you progress. Only 4 more map regions to unlock! The Akkala Tower looks scary with all of those flying guardians around.. Central Tower was an interesting climb early on in the game. Had no idea you could defeat Guardians, so I kept inching my way up the tower and ducking on every platform
Oh yeah I’m not 100% positive if you can go below your original stamina wheel. I assumed you could go down to one stamina vessel and one heart, but I don’t think I ever tried that so I’m not actually sure
