spoilers aren't real. especially in that gif where the context couldn't be more odd/need to see the episode to understand. cmon lol.
I hope you’re right. For the record I had to squint to see that was Theroux - no idea who he’s pushing.
this is still my favorite score from the show. Probably because it happens at the creepy moments haha season 2 also has a great music moment with Matt
I never would have guessed that was coming when you mentioned it before. I’ve only heard that song in such specific personal contexts outside of that episode.
Watched S2:E5 - I’ve done a 180 on Reverend Matt. The twist of Mary’s pregnancy was great and I love how it paints him in a bad light to others but he knows the truth. Such a tragic character, very curious of his character arc. I also loved learning more of the camp outside of Miracle. Not sure about the man who wanted to be abused with the oar for money.
Also watched 6 and 7. The ending of 7 - Jesus fucking Christ a Murder/suicide was not what I was expecting at all.
Girlfriend and I were super tired otherwise we would have done one more but I like that we have to sleep on what we watched tonight. I imagine we will finish off the last 3 episodes of season 2 tomorrow night.
Yup, time for a rewatch. I was never as blown away by International Assassin as most others seem to have been. I think it's great, but not even in the top 5 episodes of the season. I always thought I Live Here Now was the standout episode of the season.
Max Richter's score is so good. Hard to pick favorites, as it often depends on context and the scene it accompanies, but "She Remembers" is probably the piece I've listened to the most on its own. Dona Nobis Pacem 2 is another obvious one. Also, I have an entirely new appreciation for "Take On Me" after this show.
Finished season 2 - hoo boy. Episode 8: that as a lot of fun to figure out what was going on. Ann Dowd is incredible as was the end of the episode. Felt very LOST-like. Episode 9: my girlfriend totally called the ending with the 3 missing girls. I loved Meg and Matt’s convo; “I’m sorry to be your living reminder” when they talked about it being the anniversary of her mother’s death. That Sturgill Simpson cover of “The Promise” rules. Episode 10: I thought my girlfriend was going to have a panic attack when Lily was left on the bridge. I enjoyed seeing Jarden turned to shit - it was like Coachella and Burning Man in one. Liv Tyler makes a great villain - something I thought I’d never say. You could make a drinking game out of anytime someone says “I don’t understand” or “you understand”.
Started season 3! Episode 1: a time jump was a good move and to have the seventh anniversary of Departure Day. That ending though! “Sarah, does the name Kevin mean anything to you?”- total LOST move to show you where things will eventually end up and leave you with a million questions.
I wish I could push a metaphor representing my biggest regrets in life down a mystic well and start fresh in Australia.
