i was feeling a little under the weather this morning and i considered calling out of work just to binge the end of ss1 and all of ssn2........little upset that i didnt.
if im being honest with you, it did for me. I haven’t been able to really get into or connect with new tv shows since this one finished.
The Wire definitely reaches this. Sopranos, Twin Peaks (new season is honestly similar to The Leftovers), Mad Men, Rectify. This is the top tier of television. I enjoyed most of Castle Rock until it got to the end but I’d bet fans of this would like that.
ugh i have such a beef with this show. it was SO GOOD for S1 and S2, then they took a hard left and the remaining seasons just went way off what I thought the story was set out to be. It got real bad IMO. I don't think I watched the last season fully, I just read how it ended, and I was satisfied.
That's actually around where I dropped off, I think. The writing and the acting is just so good, but it never really drew me in the same way some of the other shows I mentioned. I do want to come around to it again eventually. Buscemi's best role, in my opinion, really shows off his acting chops.
LOST is an obvious answer if you've never seen it. I've always considered LOST my favorite show for like 15 years now, but I think The Leftovers might finally take that spot. I swear I'm not just a Lindelof fanboy
the twist at the end of Boardwalk in the final scene was very satisfying for me considering the reason I started to stray from the show in the first place.
Never watched LOST. I've always been intimidated by how long it is and what I've heard about the bad ending. I don't know anything other than people are upset about it. I'd also recommend The Knick for those who can find it. It's on Cinemax and I don't know where else. It's an excellent medical drama set in the early 1900s about addiction and grief with TONS of style.
The finale of Lost rules. The rest of the final season is kinda rough. But the first five seasons hold the fuck up as some of the best tv ever.
Currently wrapping that series up now. It's very good once you get into it albeit more on the nose about the themes/messages. Better Call Saul is awesome.
ooooooook the scene where nora comes down the stairs and sees the bodies at the table has me really fucked up.
Yeah, that's creepy as hell. I need to watch this whole show again. I love the opening credits song starting in season two.
Yeah the GR’s plan coming to fruition in Season 1 is so crazy. Nora’s grief in that moment is just tough
I thought I was the only person that watched/loved The Knick. Nice to learn there's more of us out there. Has it gotten renewed at all since ending S2?
