This mindset is exactly why people thought the finale sucked. NO they weren't dead the whole time, not even close
Yea I know what you mean. I'm regretting the fact that I'm watching The Walking Dead as it airs because it's been nothing but disappointment...but I can't just NOT watch, ya know?
Yea but then the Negan stuff...then the cliffhanger stuff. What they do well is start off a season and end the season, normally with the last 2 episodes. You can almost guarantee that the first like 3 episodes of the premier or after the mid season break will be good, but then the rest aren't very good. The midseason break isn't really doing anything for the show, either.
Yeah Lost hit at just the right time as forums/threads/social media was getting more prevalent. Lost also pretty much set the precedent for serialized storytelling and modern drama. I mean, before Lost I don't think any show had ever asked the network for an end date. Lost will forever be known for its controversial ending. But it's so much more than that. Even if you didn't like it.
I hope you guys are ready for the comedy version of Lost that's starting soon. See the 'Lost'-like teaser for TBS' new island-survivor comedy 'Wrecked'
Damn, I just realized we're getting the final season of Rectify and The Leftovers this year. They've both had relatively short runs of extremely high quality. I'm glad they went into the season knowing it's their last and can properly wrap up the story they wanted to tell.
Just plowed through season two with the gf on this rainy Saturday. Can't believe Eddie Winslow was in it.
Rectify is one of those shows that has a really deliberate pace and HAS to have either a big payoff or a very bleak ending. I've only watched the first and second episode of season 1, but that's what I got from it.
It's slow 100% of the time, right? I like the lead actor, though, he's super monotone and seemed so damaged.
100% of the time, haha. I just lost care in the story and plot by season 2, it's not a bad show... just didn't interest me anymore
I mean, a completely serious show about a man adjusting back to civil life after jail IS interesting...but a few episodes. I always just assumed there was some shit going to happen, but I don't know if that's the case or not.
Rectify's story has been incredible so far and it has some of the best acting I've seen on television.
I'm on episode 5 of season 1 right now and just watched the stoning. I think that was in the top 3 most horrifying things I've ever seen on a tv show. I don't think anything on GOT compares, the only thing I can think of is the rape in Outlander. Man, this show is bleak.
I really thought they were both great for different reasons. Season 1 just starts a little slow and leaves you confused as fuck early on. You're still confused as fuck by the end, but you're used to being confused then.
