I pretty much took what she said at face value. Matt is being controlling and using her and their son as a prop and I think she's just tired of it.
Maybe in a logical world...but in Miracle, TX? It'd be nuts if she went back to being comatose after leaving...
So in the trailer we saw Matt looking like he's about to be choked and possibly killed by an unrooly mob. If Kevin is supposed to be the new Jesus, is there an especially vocal follower of Jesus that was killed by a mob before people started to really believe somewhere in the Bible? My theology isn't very strong.
Matt seems like a Paul to me, who was executed by Romans for preaching about Jesus and his resurrection.
You're thinking of John the Baptist, I'm pretty sure. Matt doesn't really strike the same chords are John, but as Dom pointed out, Paul and most of the others post-Crucifixion experienced quite a bit of torture and eventual death.
There's speculation that Kevin is the anti-Christ, based on Matt's sermon. The previous seasons took place at the halfway mark, around the time the anti-Christ is suppose to begin appearing. This explains why Nora says she doesn't know him and looking somewhat disgusted and/or miserable at the sound of the name.
I love how off-balance and out of place this show makes you feel. After watching everything I really know nothing. Haha. So maddening but so alluring.
You mean the halfway mark between the rapture and 7 years later? So basically he's claiming to do all of these feats that Jesus did, aka coming back from the dead, but really he's somehow not doing these things and is a false prophet?
The problem is Kevin IS doing all of these things so how is that work? Might have been said prior -- but rewatching this I noticed when Kevin first goes to visit Matt, he sets his sunglasses down on the table and the glasses are placed on top of the Book of Kevin.
End of the episode seems to have a modified version of that particular song. Got both albums and they are so good. Hope they do a third.
Also, definitely confused about the return (and subsequent depature, little d) of Dean and his dog theory/sandwiches/etc
I think the Dean stuff was just to show us that he was always crazy, and also the wild and absurd beliefs people are clinching onto leading up to this 7 year anniversary.
speaking of music.... i'm pissed i have to wait a whole week to hear what the theme is this year (unless we don't get one)
