Same here about the demos! Yeah, it wouldve been great on Skeleton Coast. Such a gem of a little podcast. My homestate is New Mexico so that episode was a delight. The Maine one was hilarious too.
I’m hoping we get a 7” this year that has that fully fleshed out in the studio. Wishful thinking but would be a cool extension this year before they can play shows and remind people of Skeleton Coast as well.
War on Xmas announces tomorrow so I'm assuming it's related to that but would also love new material from The Falcon
With Chris obviously being the hold up for them I hope he feels comfortable playing more shows next year. Would at least like to see them back at Riot and at Fest. Considering the saturday here, a Falcon show with Dopamines seems like a really good time
Someone on Reddit posted a thread asking for songs that mention the word “yellow” in the lyrics. I suck at remembering things like that, so I googled Lawrence Arms yellow lyrics. Every fact Google’s AI summary listed is wrong. Remarkable. Thank god we’re spending trillions and destroying the environment for this.
Saw them in NJ Saturday. Always a pleasure seeing the boys. Hoping we get a new album soon, they always deliver
More often than not that user posts links from the Hardtimes or Youtube videos. You can usually just keep it moving.
Nah no new music for awhile now. Busy with life and other things, it’s been six years since skeleton coast now.
I will admit that I should have left out the last part of my post but, I think this was an unnecessary thread bump. And for what? Another cover from a YouTuber? This isn’t the most active thread, and beyond a few shows and War, this band is also not that active. It makes sense that Kyle or others would think there is some news seeing the thread with new activity. There are people here that know the band and crew personally, so new updates will definitely be posted in here. Some people do the disclaimer in these situations as a courteous to other folks. Perhaps that’s something to consider in the future.
I mean, some band threads stay active with conversation even if that particular band doesn’t have any activity at all. This is just me, but I’m fine with random thread bumps sharing YouTube videos and whatnot.
I agree with that, but it’s not like there was any conversation going on. The last post was this past summer. And the next post was someone being disappointed by no news. I’ll accept that I read the situation incorrectly and move on.
now this is obviously all hearsay , i am from the chicagoland area and common word about TLA is brendan kelly wants to do it more but chris and neil do not, they are doing family stuff and other jobs/bands (sometimes) so that's why no new music from TLA for awhile. and it has been awhile which sucks because i love the larry arms, i also love watching the low end university and he reviewed a first listen on bass for "The Slowest Drink At The Saddest Bar On The Snowiest Day In The Greatest City", why wouldn't i share that? anyways, what is YOUR favorite TLA album? mine are between these three.. Apathy And Exhaustion, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Oh! Calcutta!, those rotate my top spot though i jam their entire discography
Going on six years since they put out a new album. Still not as long as Dillinger Four, hah. My favorite Larry Arms album would be Greatest Story. It’s one of those albums where even if I just want to hear one song off it, I end up listening to the whole thing.
Greatest Story and Oh! Calcutta! both tend to hold the top spots for me, though they are a band I could put on any of their albums and have a good time with. Their first two albums are their most straightforward and simplistic, but they're still good old fashioned punk rock and you just can't go wrong with that. Apathy and Exhaustion was my introduction to the band in my teenage years, so a lot of those songs hold a special place in my heart. I can still remember the snowy midwestern winters I would endure listening to that album. They're simply an insanely solid band. Skeleton Coast is a fantastic late career album, I remember the day it came out! Shout out to Cocktails & Dreams for being one of the best compilation albums out there. What a fantastic band. Time to listen to some Larry Arms, I suppose!
i rejammed skeleton coast for the first time in years and im not that into a lot of brendans songs but i kinda feel like chris is at the top of his game on that album. coyote crown especially
That's a tie between "A Wishful Puppeteer" and "The Disaster March." I love how they smoothly flow into each other. At that point, after hearing both tracks, I'm just instantly pulled into a full-album listen.
