sigh. Found this really well sourced post over on Era and wanted to share it with fellow fans of the game(s)/show, just so they/we know what we're supporting. Heartbreaking. I love these games but I am not sure I can continue to be a fan.

    Neil Druckman:

    - He signed the pro-Israel #NoHostageLeftBehind letter. [Source]
    - He proudly presented the Israeli flag on October 7th, saying what translated to "Eternity Israel Forever". [Source]
    - Naughty Dog has a problem with anti-blackness and crunch, the latter of which he argues helps to make GOTY. [SOURCE, 2, 3]
    - He followed very racist and dehumanising zionist accounts. [Source]
    - Some more zionists he follows, like Douglas Murray (he equates anti-zionism to anti-semitism, is hugely racist to Palestinians, has downplayed Nazism, and said, "If you are zoning in on Israel and not bothered by everything else in the world, you're not motivated by anything other than being antisemitic"), Elica Le Bon, Brianna Wu, Colin Moriarty, Tamer Masudin.
    - Neil Druckmann retweeted The Jerusalem Post (a pro-zionist news outlet) and said this, also believing in the 40 beheaded babies hoax: "Pure evil. This is what Israel is defending herself from. Reminder that Hamas's charter calls for the complete destruction of Israel. Given the opportunity, they'd do this to every man, woman, child, and baby in Israel. Never again." [Source]
    - When he donated to humanitarian aid, he decided to provide money to ZAKA that propagated the decapitated babies myth as atrocity propaganda, along with mishandling bodies and exploitation. [Source 1, 2]

What are the odds we get a tease of Rat King at the end? 15% chance?

They’re surely saving the Rat King for next season. Haven’t had a shambler yet, though.

Seeing as they shouldn’t be back to the hospital, I would assume no.

Continuing my replay of the remaster. Me and Lev are ascending the buildings to get to the hospital. Found that note from the apartment where they were sharing notes/recipes and got into the safe. Just about to get into an area where I need to break glass and there’s tons of infected and a shambler.

This is obviously all very disappointing, and at the same time unfortunately not surprising given he was born in Israel. I had also seen the article that was written around the time of release of the game comparing the story of the game to Israel-Palestine, it was a few years ago but I should revisit it.

It’s interesting that this hasn’t been brought up previously by media given Pedro and Bella have both publicly supported Palestine. I guess it shouldn’t actually be given the news outlets like Variety have been accused of hit pieces on actors that are pro-Palestine.

It sucks that probably a majority of the people in Hollywood, entertainment, etc. are in support of or closely associated with people who support the Israel genocide. On top of the fact that no one is probably going to ask him about it in any interviews.

The whole reason the game works the way it does is by having the reveal of who Abby is at the perspective shift, and then getting SO much time to spend with her and make you question your motivations and allegiances. By laying out Abby’s intentions so plainly at the beginning of the season, and then having her disappear to the finale, I am not sure there is anyone who has a strong interest in getting her side of things - especially her side of things over just the last three days of Seattle. I think it was a misstep to change the narrative in that way, because allowing the audience to ruminate on the reveal of Abby’s motivations for duration of the wait between seasons maybe would have opened people up to see her side of the story.

Overall though, I am just happy they are making this show - and seeing so many people get a chance to meet these characters in a different medium is very cool to me, despite the changes. I hope S3 is a success and they can make S4, but I am very worried about viewership in 2 years time.

i love that some scenes are so similar to the game, but i wish they didn't keep the game's structure. i don't think the wait between seasons now is gonna do the show any good.

or if they wanted to keep the game's structure so much they should've done both perspectives in a single, longer season. you could get through the entire game in a weekend but you have to wait like two years to finish the show.
