Gameplay is pretty good. Naughty Dog hasn’t missed. They have a great track record for that stuff. Uncharted probably being my favorite gameplay

    RIP factions.

The og was so good......oh what could have been if they'd just kept it for 2.

  3. just saw a video criticizing the criticisms that Ellie isn't badass enough in the show. in the game she's supposedly left a trail of bodies through seattle already. but liek, she's still just a kid. corny and immature and completely out of her depth. the show is just better at handling that fact. also, you don't have to kill every enemy you come across. in the commentary Neil brings up many times that the ppl who were upset that they had to kill dogs didn't actually have to kill dogs (except Alice, rip). that's like the whole player choice aspect of the game. so if you're saying Ellie isn't killing enough people in the show because you killed everyone you could as Ellie in the game, what does that say about you? i feel like a broken record at this point but this really does all feed into the whole cycle of violence theme the game hits us over the head with. apparently ppl are still too dense and lack the introspection to get it/apply it to themselves.

btw i wonder what a stealth/minimal-kill run would look like

How does one not kill the dogs? Do you just run away after killing the humans?

edit: as far as body count in the show, I couldn’t care less. The stealth takedown Ellie did at the TV station felt right out of the game. Cool moment. Don’t need her to do it 50 times haha

  5. I think either that or you just don't kill the human either

I know what I’m trying on my next playthrough.

So, the first human you have the opportunity to kill is Jordan. And you have to kill him.

I started a play through last night and wanted to see how far I can get without killing anything not infected. Right after Jordan dies, a bunch of WLF show up. I just paused it there to post this. I don’t think I can escape without killing. But I’m gonna try.

edit: looks like you have to kill the WLF eventually. I was able to run away pretty far, but then you go back into a building and are supposed to leave through a window. However, it’s covered and you have to do an action to open it and the game won’t let you open it with active enemies in the area. Dina killed a couple who are in that building, but the game is counting the ones I threw smoke bombs at and ran away from.

edit 2: I guess if you just duck and heal when needed, Dina eventually kills enough to progress. So while I guess you can avoid killing anyone besides Jordan so far, I don’t really count it if it just means Dina kills them.

  8. Can’t you actually do an entire playthrough of pt1 without killing any enemies or am I making that up?

Off the top of my head, you have to kill David. Although, technically it is a cut scene, but you have to actively grab the knife or you die.

  10. also the hospital i guess? but if we exclude named npcs then i think it's possible in both games. That's with like zero research on the topic tho

You have to exclude your partner killing to do so in 2, at least. Probably the same can be said for 1. I can’t imagine being able to progress past the section where you give Ellie the rifle to be sniper as you move forward. Not sure if you’d be able to progress past that without taking them out or waiting for Ellie to.
